well, if Starbucks and donuts were good enough for Jesus and His Apostles, they should be good enough for us

That's for sure! I NEVER would want to understand how his mind worked the way it did.... I just wanted out of there... fast! I personally think the man should be locked up for some of the things he said... because out of the mouth proceedeth things of the heart... the nasty things he would say about women... made me know that the situation in his heart was evil. But again... he is still a "minister of the gospel" in the UPC even today... sad!

Re: Breast feeding during worship.
Being a nursing mother myself, I get quite fired up when people act like a woman is doing something shameful by feeding her child! I have even been known to rant about how breasts were created to feed babies...and anything beyond that is secondary!
Avery never would allow a blanket or anything over her head, so I really stopped feeding her in public around 6 months or so...that was when she would spontaneously unlatch and try to roll around, and I was usually left just presenting my breast to the world.
And I have to say that the only comments I ever got about breastfeeding in public...were all positive and encouraging!
Now...about the subject at hand. Don't make Mommies leave the sanctuary to nurse! If anyone needs extra building up it's Mother of young babies. You don't get any sleep, you are exhausted all the time...and pulled in so many different directions...they need the pick me up!
Besides...if the only thing you have to do is ogle at a breastfeeding Mother during worship? Well, you have some pretty serious issues!

Unfortunate but true......in the case of ministers or politicians it appears to be a power thing and that they are invincible .....not sure about the salesman

I say we place the nursing moms and hungry babies right up on the platform up on pastor row.

The militant among them would probably fully approve of that idea.

Re: Breast feeding during worship.
The problem is, people worship a building.
Jewish Temples and Catholic Temples, have sanctuaries. Christians meet in a building. And a building where Christians meet is no more holy than your home. Actually not as holy as your home.
I believe the early church ate meals when they came together, in their homes.
I thank God, for women with enough wisdom and health to breast-feed their babies.
They need to be discreet and cover up. But they sure don’t need to be discouraged from behaving naturally as God intended.
