I started to let this go but the thought came to me why it is ok to profess to be a pastor or evangelist or even a teacher, but not a prophet or apostle?
nothing wrong with professing being whatever one might be....when its the truth. I also think that a persons gift will speak for itself, one doesnt have to announce their *calling*, it's pretty much a given. My point was only that many, many, MANY, who *claim* to be prophets are NOT. I'm not saying there arent prophets, but there are some who even address themselves as prophet, and the only thing remotely prophetic about them is the long bushy beard. Literally. How many flakes have we seen in the news for some off the wall action and they claim to be Prophet so and so? And we even have the "Prophetess"..female versions.
Further clarification....just because someone says they are a prophet, doesnt make it so. It doesnt detract from those that are, and profess to be so....
I know we like to say God is a gentleman and won't embarrass you in front of other people, but Annanias and Saphrias (sp) may disagree.
yeah well I personally think they brought that on themselves...LOL Not like He set out to publically embarass them..they just paid for their actions, immediately
My thought is that there arent any GOD CALLED *modern day prophets*
yanno?
My rule of thumb is anybody calling themselves a Prophet probably isn't.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

He was AG. They haven't seen a real prophet since they rejected oneness and MICHELOB was written over the door of that place.
And oneness is knocking the world over with their prophets???? Honey Child please!

Oneness is doing nothing. While the denominations moved forward, oneness pitched a tent and said "We're not moving." Today, pathetically, allowing video is considered progressive.
Honey child? I always thought you were a guy. Now I'm going to assume that you're a woman. But, if you're a guy you're going to have to stand in line next to that other dude that calls me papi.
