Re: Is It UnGodly to Not Vote?

In 2012, cast a vote that represents YOU

The approach to voting I suggest for conservatives in 2012 offers a way to achieve these objectives. We vote for the GOP candidates who stand by the Platform. But since “It’s not Mitt Romney’s Platform”, we refuse to vote for the Mitt Romney. If conservatives join in following this approach then, whatever the outcome of the Presidential contest, the disparity between the vote for Romney and the vote for the rest of the ticket will demonstrate the power of the principled conservative grassroots; and that demonstration will stiffen the backbone of a conservative majority in Congress, impelling them to end what has been the GOP’s increasingly infamous record of co-operation with America’s rapid slide toward socialist perdition.

...the refusal to replace one socialist with another isn’t “a vote for Obama.” It’s a vote for the only result that actually represents the purpose of principled conservatives. It’s a vote that says “no” to socialism, whatever its party label. It’s a vote that say ‘yes’ to liberty and the perpetuation of true self-government. Isn’t that the vote the really represents YOU?

An excellent treatise on voting for
"none of the above," imo.

See that you were made a "conservative"
to divide you from a "liberal," and a Christian
has no business in politics.

"What will you say if we get a Hitler?"

How do you think they got Hitler? Hmm?
He was popularly elected (which, btw, is impossible here)
after openly rebelling, and represented the will of the people
at the time. Don't let all the Aryans crying croc tears later
fool you.

Personally, I will say the same either way
(Hitler or Gandhi); you got what God gave you,
and you had no choice in the matter, whether you
believe you did or not. Need Scripture for that?
Spoken like a true die hard Calvinist who believe God executes absolute control over every minute detail in life so everything we get is God ordained and man has no choice or say in the matter.

Personally I think Calvin was wrong and his doctrine a sham. WE choose and God allows us that priviledge. He allows us free will and choice. When we make terrible choices, He allows us to suffer and hopfully learn from them.

God didn't ordain Obama, GWB, Clinton, GHWB, Reagan or any other POTUS. The people voted for them and sometimes we got good leaders, other times...not so much.

Hmm, never read Calvin. Personally, I believe that God picks our leaders, just like Scripture says, while also not interfering in our free will. I agree with what you say after "free will," (and pretty much in general) and I'm curious how you might interpret 1 Sam 8 for today.

And ps, after the way in which gay marriage is being jammed down our throats, despite the will of the majority, in a matter where the popular vote supposedly does count, "the people voted for them" sort of becomes like a joke with a mis-placed punch-line? Peace.
