Re: Political Implications of "Free-Will"

You're trying to excuse abortion and gay marriage with your arguments JD, in the end to feel better about voting for Obama. There's no need to keep seeking affirmation. Do what thou must do. But the line can continue to be redrawn and the bar will continue to be lowered and before you know it we will be a Godless nation to the degree of Western European nations like Holland where drugs are legally sold on the street corners, prostitutes stand in the windows like sex mannequins waiting for their customers to purchase their product, live on stage sex shows take place and murderers serve no more than 20 years in prison for their crimes. And a once God-fearing Christian nation that used to send missionaries around the world has a less than 10 percent church attendance rate, young people in large numbers are atheists and secularists and an entire generation knows not the Lord.

Are there degrees of godlessness?

Do you want to limit the God-given freedoms of heathens to ........ themselves to hell with human laws of human morality that do nothing to cleanse their sin-ridden souls?

You want a nation of self-righteous and idolatrous almost Christians who watch Little House on the Prairie and Highway to Heaven but still die and go to hell.

Let the world be the world and let the church be the church.

Our attempts to legislate Christianity is not too far from Constantine's efforts-- a leader who is roundly criticized for his mixing of Christianity and paganism.

The unquestioned support of American Christians for the GOP amounts to our political support of Christianity mixed with worldliness.

The Republicans are bad, but not as bad as the Democrats?
The Republicans espouse sin, but not the same sins as the Democrats?

Are there degrees of godlessness?

Re: Political Implications of "Free-Will"

We limit God-given freedoms of heathens all the time. We've done it since the founding of our republic. I don't believe opposing abortion or gay marriage or high taxes or uncontrolled spending or phony global warming energy policies is going to save anyone's soul JD. I do believe God judges us as individuals but He also judges nations. And I want the favor of God, not the wrath of God upon America. Laws against immoral behavior won't stop immoral behavior but it sets a standard for our country that I believe the Lord is pleased with.

Did the church not help stop slavery, segregation? Should they have not since it didn't stop racism? Your logic is flawed JD and you can't admit it.

You know I have no problem admitting that I'm wrong or if my logic is flawed.

Who is the god of America?
Can sinners have the favor of the Almighty God while rejecting Him with adherence to human laws?

Re: Political Implications of "Free-Will"

Pardon me for the incorrect assertion, I apologize.

I'll answer your question when you answer mine: should Christians and churches and preachers have been silent on the subject of slavery and segregation? They led the way. and they used God and the Bible to fight for those causes.

Post Re: Political Implications of "Free-Will"

No country is perfect. however, our ancestors came here to get away from oppression. Europe should remain different than America. What america was built on was to end monarchies and be a free nation. It was built on christian morals and God prophesied over our nation.
Why do we want to become like Europe? Can we not be different?
What used to make America great was how we were different than Europe.
