Our Father, The Merciful
Imagine this: You give your kid a chore. And you promised a great prize if this chore gets done. He or she works very very hard to do it. all day even. But you set a time limit on it. And just when the time limits over, you check with your kid, and as hard as they've been working, the chore is not quite finished. It's almost finished, and your child made a huge effort to get that prize. Are you going to deny your child that prize? Of course not. How much more merciful is Jesus Christ, than you? I believe He looks at our efforts, not at our shortcomings. If we really and truly are giving our best effort, we can make it into heaven. God didn't set out to make an impossible task. He just wants to see just how good we can do. And He rewards us for our efforts.

Re: Our Father, The Merciful
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:8-12 KJV

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV

Re: Our Father, The Merciful
i dont even think its about even giving your best effort. cause no one truely gives such a thing to anyone or anything. Not in this flesh. But that shows you how deep His Mercy is and great His love is, and Strong grace is.
ofcourse im not gonna get to heaven cause of any merits or good deeds i do, that would be a work, but ill get there cause of the sacrifice that a man did on my behalf. People dont realize God commanded himself to Love us. Knowing how much God detest sin, He sent his Only begotten Son into this world to atone for my wretched nature.
How could he ever love someone like me.... through the Blood of Jesus.. pretty amazing stuff. He is a Amazing God

Re: Our Father, The Merciful
I would rather state that you would come to the aid of the child when the limit started to get close if he had truly given the best that he could. Thus by your mercy and grace was he able to attain the prize. So it is with Jesus. He saw that we could only do our best, but He came to give us His aid so that we could achieve so much more.

Awesome response.
