If I say my God's name is Jesus and you say my God's name is not then surely we have different gods in the most basic sense. However, if you affirm that everything about your God is the same as it is for my God except for a few things then I wouldn't be comfortable telling you we have different Gods. I would say we have the same God but you are wrong about a few things regarding him. That's a major difference.

Ok, if you say your God's name is Jesus, and I say it is not, then I have presumed to speak for you.

Well, discounting for the moment the heresy that Jesus Himself would correct you on, there in that first assertion (as it is a subject for a diff thread; or maybe not, hmm--anyway), I am trying to agree with you-- I would say we have the same God but you are wrong about a few things regarding Him.
