Movie Files

I have movies in avi and mpeg-4 formats. I need a program to convert them to dvd format so I can burn them and watch in dvd player. I have tried dvdsanta and a couple of free trial versions but I have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know of an easy to use converter program that I can download? thanks

I dunno about free but NERO will do it. Many DVD players will play avi and other video files

many times shareware software that comes with DVD burners will do it.

Many come with NERO essentials (free) or Power DVD but I don't think Nero essentials will do it. NERO full version will

Try this
http://www.sothinkmedia.com/movie-dvd-maker/

I use other Sothinkmedia software. You can trust them

You can't get any easier free program than DVD Flick...

http://www.dvdflick.net/

# Burn near any video file to DVD
# Support for over 45 file formats
# Support for over 60 video codecs
# Support for over 40 audio codecs

I downloaded it to put .flv on DVD and it works great!

Re: Movie Files

This site gives away a free commercial program every 24 hours. At least 2 packages a week are DVD rippers and converters. Just make sure to check it daily to see what is being offered.

I have this program (convertxtodvd) but the complexity intimidates me. Is there a way to tweak so I can just add files and convert? Did you find it easy to use?

Rose, I tried dvdflick and the movies seemed to take longer to convert than convertxto dvd, but convertxtodvd wasn't burning all the time. Sometimes the program would create a folder and not burn so I started using sothink movie dvd maker and it works great like Praxeas suggested. The times that sothink doesn't burn the file, I use convertxtodvd to burn the file. If you use sothink make sure you create a folder to store the converted files, then go to tools, options, general tab and select the folder you created as temporary folder. then use convertxtodvd to burn, if sothink doesn't do it, by clicking action, burn a converted project. hope this helps. happy burning.

Re: Movie Files

Personally I would use whatever free software that came with my DVD burner like NERO to burn the DVD once it's converted or made
