I wonder why it seems to be either or.

I just don't understand.

I don't miss their doctrine, but I do miss their services.

I want GOD to give me everlasting knees and hips that won't ache so that I can dance and leap and praise GOD even into my 90's, should He allow me live that long.

I'm old and have seen the day. You are exactly right!!!
Of course there are those of the secular religious opinion. Those who think they and theirs' are the only ones who hold the truth. I think sometimes it's pure jealousy when they see someone else having a good time in the Lord. Reminds me of the Apostle Peter when he asked the Lord Jesus if he wanted Peter to call down fire from heaven and destroy those people who were operating in faith outside of the disciples little group.

Re: It's been a along time since I've seen this

The Bible tells us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. When reading OT history and seeing the times they worshiped and the times they responded to the reading of the word, and how they acted in their services i see a people who expressed more joy and made more noise then most of the professing religions today. And when one thinks about this, you see they did not have the spirit dwelling within as we do today.
There is a truth in things and there is a false hood in things. People worship Jesus in spirit and in truth and there are those who make a lot of noise trying to get a fleshly emotional mood going.
I believe people need to have fun and joy in the Lord because if they don't they will find it in the world and Satan will make sure it's delivered to their door step.

Yep, I heard the that same opinion where I used to go to church. I say "opinion" as, to me, that's exactly what it is, an opinion.

God's not interested in our opinions. He's merely interested in His truth being discovered and sought after. How one choose to respond to that is not something we should subtly or bluntly express our opinions over, whether we're a bishop, pastor, or layman...

Yeah that's what I talk about in the Old vs New - Worship Songs thread. For a long time much of pentecostal music has revolved around what we're going to get from God.

I am seeing a day arising now where our songs are actual worship to God not excitement about what God is about to do or what God is going to do for us.

Over "singing until the power of the Lord comes down" I'll take "You Are Holy" any day of the week.
