YOU have a 3 year old? Really? For some reason, I always took you for older than that. Sorry.

I feel very strongly about tithing - but really started that whole post with some humor about sliding to hell on a dime that you steal out of God's Dollar.
I really do not believe you will go to hell for not tithing and that God is full of Grace & Mercy and He is our only and final judge. I am a tither but I have no right to tell anyone they are going to hell for not tithing. Again, I apologize for posting all that. I am pretty passionate when I write and I know at times it is offensive even if I am trying to be humorous.

I know I offended some women who criticized Pastor Carroll Magruder. I just hate to see people putting out private conversations and airing their and others dirty laundry for everyone to see - especially when they do not have all the facts, but I still should have toned that all down. I know that hurting people hurt people and I should have tried to help heal those women instead of adding fuel to their fire. Again, I am sorry.

I do not want to debate or argue about any of this - it will not change anybodies mind and will only stir up people so - please do not expect to engage me on these matters.

I will try and do better. Those that know me know that I am not mean spirited and I love to laugh and cut up. From reading some of this today - it seems I let things get out of hand.
I really hope to do better.
Bless you!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Good post and good spirit about it.

but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Re: I apologize

What a great thread and what a show of Christian compassion and humility. I am thankful for all the brothers and sisters here on this forum, and I am so glad to see Bro. Epley back as well. Sometimes we all have a tendancy to be critical of each other (you know, libs, cons, ultra cons etc.)

I still believe we need each other and yes that includes the very conservative. I heard it said one time by a preacher that having very conservative brothers and sisters helps to keep the church balanced from tipping into the world.

At any rate, regardless of where you are in things like Tithing, modest apparel etc. We need to do our best to love, not offend. I also believe we need to be liberal in blessing the ministry, both the pastor and missionaries etc. I look at AB and know he has done more for the work of Christ then I ever have, I have no right to be critical of his ministry or his convictions...I do however, need to respect him.

What a refreshing thread!
