Assuming you're speaking of the AM I'm familiar with not too far from Texas, from what I remember hearing from him the last time he preached for us, I don't recall very many speaking in tongues.
It's been a little over 2 years since that happened; he preached for us during a move to a larger facility. The atmosphere was thick with God's presence, but I don't think it was because AM was there to deliver the Word. Matter of fact, the annointing and God carrying it over to the new building is what I remember hearing about so much of -- not standards or anything else, let alone tongues...
If I wanted to hear about standards, I'd simply go to a local area church whose emphasis is placed there, or better yet just go to GC. Speaking of GC, I've never been to one, but for all I can remember hearing people who have gone say about it, it sounds to me like they're preaching the same message of standards but in different forms directed at the choir, instead of ways to save those truly lost. But, I don't know for sure since I've never actually been. Perhaps I shall fancy a trip to it to see for myself...

the only standards AM is going to preach is what keeps him in the mainstream of the movement (which isnt much!).

I would love to hear Anthony Mangun for one, and I'm sure there are others.

I hope you get to hear him someday, Amanah. I've always been blessed by his preaching.

You'd be blessed. He's sincere about what he preaches, regardless of topic. The times I've seen him, both on the platform and in casual settings, he's been the same -- serious when he needs to be, down to earth otherwise. Too, I love to hear Mick (as she's referred to by family and close friends) sing. When one's around, both of them will do their thing for God and many will be dually blessed by it...

I think that's strictly a matter of opinion that God clearly overlooks. There are testimonies sitting under AM that many people here probably have no idea about, and how he's probably lead them along the way to where they are now. That can be said of any of our pastors, really, regardless of what "keeps them in the movement."

Re: General Conference 2011 Kentucky
Did I read this right? Do you have to pay to get into the General Conference of the UPC to hear people sing and preach? Do you have to pay to watch it on line? Could someone post the price list again? Entrance Fee to a service and fee to watch it. I am SURE it must be for crowd control because so many are trying to get in and there are not enough seats! I wonder how many they are having to turn away because of crowd capacity? Probably thousands. I got a tweet this week that Jack Cunningham said there were more than 40,000 UPC Churches. How about that!
