So far, I'm not sure the right Republican has come forward. Whoever that person will be, they are running out of time.
17 months on a political clock is eons. This same stage in 2007 Hillary Clinton was the frontrunner in the Dem Party and Obama was a relatively unknown candidate. 6 weeks out from Election Day in 2008 the economy tanked and propelled Obama from trailing in the polls to leading in them the rest of the way to Election Day.

There's plenty of time to select a strong GOP candidate. Michele Bachmann is my #1 choice. Herman Cain is #2. Either one could beat Obama on his best day.

Obama will be reelected by a landslide margin because the Republicans don't have a decent candidate or a coherent message.

They pander to Christians just like Dems pander to African-Americans. They say the right things during the election cycle and then do nothing when elected.

Trouble is, they are nothing better than a lite beer version of Dems. They want a little less spending, a little less abortion, and a little less gay marriage.

Obama will be reelected. And that is almost as bad as Sarah being elected.

Im wondering about the whole "running out of time" deal. Every election cycle candidates are starting out earlier and earlier. This gives opponents more time to dig up trash on them, more time for them to make a mistake(verbal or otherwise) and for those who get alot of hype and support its more time for the hype to die down before the election.

What if a candidate waited ? This gives the candidate time to watch and evaluate the competition, see their weakness and strengths, let the competition tear each other down without the new candidate having to lift a finger. Wait until the last minute, come out of the gate with a great message, a lot of hype, blow the doors off the competition without giving them time to respond before the polls open.

Just a thought.

The economy is part of our doing. If we want jobs buy american made stuff.
boycott companies that send jobs overseas.
The prez has no control over that you do. only we can restore america.
The Bush family has been pro-abortion always- since the 1970's.
We need someone like Harry Truman, why because he had no money. He was an accident- he was not from a rich family.
Obama is not going to get re-elected because he just puts bandaids on everything. deafdriscoll

Obama will lose in 2012 b/c of the economy period. His bump from Bin Laden is gone already. It will be a referendum on Obama and he will be soundly defeated.

I predicted he would be a one-termer during the campaign of 2008. It was obvious his policies would tank the economy further. It was not hard to see for anyone with an elementary knowledge of economics.
