e-sword question

I found the orthodox jewish bible zip files that are esword modules. I downloaded and ran the files. The files were installed in esword program files, but when I open esword I can't view them or find them. Can anyone help? the zip files are here:

http://www.esnips.com/web/lightlyprintedsEsword

i think these are old modules that don't work on the new version of esword.

I think modules are the individual components of esword like a bible version for example. you can view different bible versions or commentaries in esword and each one is a module. not sure esword is for mac though.

if anyone is interested, here is a website with some esword modules that are not available through esword.net like the pulpit commentary.

Re: e-sword question

DM, there are OLD modules and zip files and NEW ones. E-Sword has changed its format since version 9, and the extension of the files that are newer read like this: .bblx while the old are .bbl. If you downloaded an OLD .bbl file it will not work on the newer sword version. You have to find the .bblx file. I seem to recall conversion programs that will make .bbl into .bblx, but I never found one that actually worked. lol

there is a newer version of Esword that uses a different kind of data base. Old mods won't work. This is why I have not upgraded my esword

Add to it the fact that DM's file is an executable locked up in that zip file. It isn't readily apparent whether it's the new or older format. There is no accompanying documentation to help us out, either. Also, on Windows 7 the msi program fails entirely - and that without reporting an error. Changing the default install directory to (x86) accomplishes nothing. Still nothing. The .exe is clean when scanned with AVG.

Methinks that this material is probably best suited to be enjoyed elsewhere; at least until "lightlypenned" gets a chance to update.
