Just an update, I don't want to start a new thread. My wife and I have found another apostolic church in the area and we have begun to attend. It is a much smaller church than my previous church (not badmouthing big churches, just stating a fact) and the people there have been very loving and sincere.
We sat down with the elder pastor (who's retiring) and the new pastor and had a long talk. We were honest but didn't cast any stones since these men know the ministry of my old church. They only made me one promise, I would be loved because love is preached in their church. That was music to mine ears. I don't want a pastor to blow sunshine up my leg, I just want to know that I'm somebody to them even if I'm not in the "in" crowd.
All 3 of my sons are old enough (youngest is 17) to make their own decisions about faith, and two of them are staying at our former church, which is fine with me if they feel that's where God wants them.
