The only reason why the moderates don't all allow beards (on the platform) is because they know the kind of backstabbling trash talking that will happen and already has happened. They even make up likes about these churches and pastors

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

The point was, according to the labels usually given on this forum, they could be said to be shifting to moderate.

I see you been a member a while, not paying attention ?

The problem as I see it is that he did not put into context his thought. I have seen this happen often on Facebook and do not think that it is appropriate to do. If there is a thought, then it should be expressed in full and not in a .5 second sound bite.

Why can't DKB send out Tweets like that?

I'd have to read the full context surrounding his statement to gain a better understanding of his reasoning. But, from what I know of Bernard, he walks a spirtitual tight-rope, one with little room for God's grace, IMO...

However, I, too, follow him on Twitter since some things I do agree with him on...

This tweet seems to be part of a mini-series. Here are a few more recent tweets from DKB along the same vein:

May 19 - We cannot sacrifice righteousness and consecration from a sense of unity, for "the friendship of the world is enmity against God." Jam 4:4

May 20 - We cannot sacrifice ethics and love due to righteous indignation, for "the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." Jam 1:20

May 23 - We can treat fellow believers and even unbelievers with integrity, courtesy and respect without compromising our convictions.

May 24 - We can act in a loving way even toward those who attack us, and in doing so we display the holiness of God. Matt 5:43 - 48

May 25 - We can faithfully speak the truth but learn to speak the truth in love. Eph 4:15

Personally - I don't find a lot to disagree with.

If at all possible we are to follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. The principles of holiness shouldn't be compromised. However, we must be tolerant of others who impliment those principles differently. Some don't wear wedding bands, some do. Therefore we are to maintain harmony with those who differ from us. There is a place for debate and discussion, but we must remember to keep the bonds of peace.

Peace and understanding usually only flow one way in these instances. In other words, I always wear my ring and have no problem hanging around with someone who doesn't believe in them. But typically the person who doesn't believe in them will not tolerate ME wearing mine. True harmony would be me willing to take mine off in his presence but him willing to wear one in mine, which will never ever happen. Perhaps we are dealing with the "weaker brother" who will stumble by trying to fit in with me whereas I would not have nearly he same issue trying to fit in with him?
