I name each and every new tax endeavor as another full employment act for CPA's. The 17,000 pages of tax code (that is code for tax laws) Is written by lawyers and generally has different vocabulary than is used by accountants. Leftists have their way of expressing achronyms that are misleading. The Internal Revenue Service has a pathetich attitude toward "service"

The good news is in front of the IRS, you are always guilty until proven innocent. (the other areas in which you the "defendent" are guilty until proven innocent are sexual harrassment cases, airplane crash injuries and medical malpractice claims.)

Did you know that the IRS is not sending out forms anymore? At our local library, we are supplying them to the patrons. There is nowhere else in town they can get them and we are not paid anything to do it. Soon, people will have to file online. Then, the people will likely be wanting help filling it out online....

I still see boxes of forms at the Post Office and Library. Our state stopped entirely.

I have used IRS.gov for years to download forms and instructions.

Our local IRS office is locked and guarded. I used to walk in and ask for Package X which is a very thick book only us in the profession knew about. No need for paper books any longer. A few years ago they also went to CD rom for the 2 volume set. All the old law and tax books are now pretty much online. West, Callaghans, Prentice-Hall, Matt Bender and some have merged.Commerce Clearing House.
