Tear it apart piece by piece, and you won't really have much. Leave it all together as is, and it's an amusing piece of facebook-script.
He was saying, "We agree more than we disagree, but pride keeps everyone from admitting it. Trinitarians are afraid of Jesus' name baptism and Apostolics are afraid of the title 'Father.' And btw: Baptists don't need to be embarrassed about speaking in tongues."
It's not more complex than that. The rest is neon ornamentation.

You better hope your sister doesn't read this and take it as a criticism of KP!!!! She will have it printed and in his hands lickety-split!!!!

Re: Kenneth Phillips note on facebook
You can see the result of what KP believes by looking at his son's ministry and what he believes.

KP should be extremely proud of his son. He has planted a church on the opposite side of a large city and is reaching souls there.
A couple of years ago I sat in a service at Randy's church while on business in Austin and it was the Sunday they had the "cardboard cutout ministry" many have done.
A long list of people in his church got up and one after one held up signs showing what they had been delivered from (some things physical and some circumstances) when they came to the Lord at this church you are demeaning.
I sat there with tears in my eyes. God is an amazing God and still changing lives and redeeming people today.

Re: Kenneth Phillips note on facebook
It's fun for Oneness preachers, whether they believe it or not, to spread propaganda about mainstream doctrine that it does indeed believe and worship three Gods, it gets people on their feet cheering. After all, who doesn't like a good torchlit campaign against that which would take their precious members away.

Re: Kenneth Phillips note on facebook
I agree that many times much is read into what we write. Even a person that writes on this forum it seems whatever I say that certain person sees it in a completely different way than what I meant to say...sometimes our opinions are baised...
I do not personally know KP but in the 70's I happened in be in an ALJC (?) I think it was convention where he preached. I shall never forget the souls stirring messages that spoke to my heart. I shall never forget the tears of compassion he spoke with as he told stories of winning souls.
I shall never forget a friend of mine told me when he left (?) the UPC that he said, "It was better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all..."
I have no earthly idea how he believes on many issues....however I chose to think of him as a man of intense love....I AM SURE we do not see eye to eye on most subjects but I thank God for every soul that he has reached and I will leave it up to the Holy Ghost to lead each soul (me included) into any area of truth I need to know.
I do not know his son and am sure we may differ even more however to know that he is concerned about helping others leave drugs and habits and find a better life is very sweet. I do know he sings beautiful.
Our children do not always represent what we believe...we never cease to love them and may at times have rocky relationships depending on all the whys things happen but we never stop loving them...
We raised lots of children in our home...some chose to stay in our work others have go on to other churches...so whatever our children do or do not do is no real sign how the parents feel or teach...
I am probably considered an UC by many however others have called me a lose liberal! lol...you cannot please them all...
I wish I had the same talent KP has for reaching souls...no matter how we differ I admire his talent and love for reaching souls.

LOL!!!! I KNOW!!!! Fortunately, she doesn't pay any attention to us anymore. I don't think, anyway. It's not really intended to be a heavy criticism (although I suppose it is). Some preachers use whatever information they can find to get their points across, so it's best to follow their main point and not pay too much attention to the supporting material.

Huh? Really? We're going to judge every minister by looking at his children? I have a long list of conservative preachers, then, who need to reconsider their doctrines.

Re: Kenneth Phillips note on facebook
I sure am not Baptist...but I do thank the Lord for a little Baptist mission that reached out to one of my sisters...she may not be taught there what I feel is truth however she is no longer in and out hospitals and homes for drinking...I write this with tears and it is too personal to go into her story...I wish she was with me playing the piano every Sunday or in a church that believes more like I do...However she is not but she is not where she once was.
Why people leave what each one considers truth is often a long complex story and where they find love and help is often another story...
I once heard a hard preacher say, MY daughter can go to hell from someone else's pews not mine...she left and never returned again...
While we cannot ok sin we can love the sinner...
We raised lots of troubled children and because of their past Brother Alvear and I have sufferd and often still suffer...People have lots a baggage...things happen... ways part....just last night I hugged a girl that has a heart full of bitterness toward others...she was mistreated and let it grow into a monster inside her...
Well...I wandered off the subject....sorry....

Great words of wisdom. I feel your heart and understand.
