DKB: 85% believed Acts 2:38 as New Birth at Merger
"At the formation of the UPCI, at least 85 percent of the merged body held that the full Acts 2:38 experience was “the new birth.” (DKB, Twitter 3/03)
Where is the research to support this?
Should we also examine the light doctrine views of those that did as a clearer picture as to their soteriological views?
One thing for sure close to half of the executives on this first General Board did not represent this alleged super-majority demographic ... including the first General Supt., Howard Goss.

Re: DKB: 85% believed Acts 2:38 as New Birth at Me
I think there should be supporting documentation posted with it.
Also, I think the statement is incomplete without acknowledgement that a large number of the "85%" also believed many non-three stepper, even non -OPs, were considered "Righteous" and not hell-bound. That would change the implications of Acts 2:38 = New Birth doctrine.

I wonder if he knows how many believe it now?

While I believe the 85% might be correct, I would like to see how this number was derived.
DA - where did DKB state this?
Thanks.

Honestly, how can he prove that?

Since I am not a twitterer, can someone tell me in what context that post is made? Is it in response to anything in particular or just a stand alone comment?

You don't need a twitter account to view it ... there is no context ... you get 140 characters to make you tweet ... so each letter and space counts ...

He'd probably point to his mentee's "research" project ... Shaw's online study.
There are quite a few that do .... some would surprise us ... if they "came out".

Re: DKB: 85% believed Acts 2:38 as New Birth at Me
And whether it was 95% ... there is a gentleman's agreement not to contend to the disunity of the brethren over such things as the New Birth.
One has to wonder if this is a precursor to changing the AOF in 2012 ....
