Obama Criticizes WI Governor; Shameless Hubris
BO chastises Governor Walker for being fiscally responsible! All that during the same week he released his reckless budget that will add to the national debt and does nothing substantial about spending. Its pathetic we have to look to Governors and Congressmen like Paul Ryan for leadership on the biggest threat to our nation since the Cold War. If Obama does not exercise any measurable leadership on the spending problem Washington has, he will lose in 2012 by a landslide and set the Democratic Party back decades.

What Governor Paul Ryan is doing is not a reflection of good leadership.
He's bullying his way to take away a right that hardworking Americans earned years ago. There are positive, professional ways to address his issues with Unions but he's not using that approach.
The Obama Budget is not reckless. In fact, it is the exact opposite. He is using a scalpel when others would want him to use a machette. Using a machette-- that would be reckless.
As for as the President exercising leadership, if the government shuts down this March, I would view it as a failure of his leadership and I hope others would too. Still, we should keep in mind that it is the Republican majority in the House, lead by Rep. Boehner, could work harder to find a place of compromise with their Democratic counterparts and our Democratic President.
America did not elect anyone to Washington to shut it down. This type of thinking accomplishes nothing when what the country needs are LEADERS who will act.
In discussing the shut down of the government, I wish people would remember that our country still has a military engaged in two wars.
In this urinating contest between the Republicans and the President, this fact appears to be lost.

What the ignorant Libs don't understand is the teachers are not Federal workers.
Obama needs to mind his own business.
Jermyn is still pushing the old nasty liberal ways that got us in this mess.
Reagan would fire the union strikers and get a clean start.
Obama is talking up this story as a distraction from his silence and ignorance while the Middle east is raging.

Re: Obama Criticizes WI Governor; Shameless Hubris
JD - the contrast between the two men is striking.
Whatever you want to say about the Wisconsin Gov, that is your opinion.
However, he has engaged in principled leadership.
He has a clear vision and has not wavered from his vision.
You may disagree with his principles, but he has been consistent.
The example you have of our two wars - shows what kind of leader BO is.
He was elected on a promise of ending these wars and bringing the troops home.
After election, he found out how hard this would be, so he changed his mind.
Not a good example of principled leadership.
The comparison between the two is striking.

Paul Ryan is a Congressman not the Governor. Walker is the Governor if WI. Paul Ryan has offered clear solutions to the deficit problem.
We don't need a scalpel applied to the budget. BO's budget cuts spending minimally. It actually adds MORE to the national debt. He took a schillacking in November because Americans want the indebtedness to stop. Deep cuts need to be made. A balanced budget needs to be proposed. I believe he proposed $90 billion in cuts in a $1.1 trillion budget. That's peanuts.

coadie, "the old nasty liberal ways that got us in this mess."
What got us into this mess is the first year that George W. Bush came into office. When Clinton left office, this country was in top shape. Our country has suffered because of sending our jobs out of our country and starting a war that was not our fight. I do not believe in putting the blame on anyone, but who it rightfully belongs to. Whether you agree or not, it still is the truth.
Jermym, you have it right. I heard those "Walker Tapes", he is a crook, he is for the Koch money, not the people of Wisconsin.

I think you forgot a little thing called 9/11.
That sort of put us in an economic tailspin.
But, back to the topic.
Can you cite one fact/statement/anything to back up your assertion that Walker is a crook?
Also, do you believe anything should be done to the public sector unions in Wisconsin?

Didn't the democrats have control from 06 until recently?
The experation date of blaming W. has come and gone. It's time the democrats who have had control since 06 take at least some responsibility.

Re: Obama Criticizes WI Governor; Shameless Hubris
Looks like the Wisconsin Democratic State Senators have a good reason for leaving the state.
"For Wisconsin’s Democratic state senators, it’s simply bad business to offend labor unions.
Thirteen of the fourteen have received generous contributions from unions over the years; their cumulative donations range from $5,750 to $113,603. And anything less than, well, fleeing the state in order to prevent Gov. Scott Walker’s public-union-busting bill from passing could threaten those vital cash flows."
