Are we all simple Reprobates here?

I remember back to when I first prayed through, there was a older lady who seemed to not have all the pistons firing wandering around during church services. Her name was Tete, and the story was told. "God has turned her over to be a reprobate, because she spoke evil of the movement of the Holy Ghost. She is the Pastor's Sister also" Her mind was like a child and she would sometimes hum or talk to herself. She did not drool, or scream like the demon possessed we had visit. She simply wandered about like a 3 yr old would.

In the last few days, this board has been described as "full of reprobates" and to be fully avoided.

Is this really how you perceive other members of this diverse group?

Is this really how you want others on the Wild Wooly Web to perceive this board?

Absolutely not. For balance make the Moderate Moorings your homepage.

rep·ro·bate(rpr-bt)
n.
1. A morally unprincipled person.
2. One who is predestined to damnation.
adj.
1. Morally unprincipled; shameless.
2. Rejected by God and without hope of salvation.
tr.v. rep·ro·bat·ed, rep·ro·bat·ing, rep·ro·bates
1. To disapprove of; condemn.
2. To abandon to eternal damnation. Used of God.

I think the folks who use this word as an insult should be permanently banned. The punishment should match their accusation. I was highly incensed when I saw the accusation and then some of our best known AFF posters jumped in and agreed - laughing all the way.

I do not think someone should ever joke about a soul going to Hell - ever.

Again, I am for freedom of speech, and I loathe censorship, but this was out of line in a big way. I would hate for one of these men to be my pastor.

BTW, did you notice it was our CONSERVATIVE brethren who used the word in such a meanspirited way?

Were these posters warned or given infractions?

This lingo makes AFF look really awful.

I agree entirely P.P. You seem to always have the right thing to say at the right time.

While I did not see that post in as much as I don't read half of the threads on here, I agree that calling another poster a reprobate is out of line. His/her chain needed to be yanked on that one, if not a temp. ban.

However, there is far too much censorship here for my liking. It seems that what could potentially be profitable threads and posts have been pulled and censored, I see others that are allowed to get under the wire without hardly a raised eyebrow.

I am not the judge of inequites here...as there are quite a few in my opinion, there should be certain constraints and consequences to those violations. Meanwhile, take the bridle from off this forum and let good robust, discusson ensue with vigorous debate and confrontation so long as those boundaries of personal dignity are not violated.

jmho...with emphasis on m and h and o too.

So, you are saying the use of the word in other places only applies to a few?

Then, we DO have reprobates here?

I agree that there is a little too much censorship of DISCUSSIONS.

But name calling and laughing about someone going to Hell casts a pall over our online community as a whole.

Brother Strange, I will not name them, but you would be shocked at the men involved. They called the entire AFF community reprobates.

I have no idea what you just said.

I have no idea if we have reprobates here. That is for God to decide. These men claimed we were all species of reprobates or subspecies, if you recall.

I don't understand why they continue to post here if they truly feel we are beyond hope.

"Entire community reprobates?" Entire community except them, of course.

Thanks for not naming them. Since I am a part of this community, I might would have gotten a little steamed under the collar.

I'm just glad that I did not read it. That way, their good reputation is still in tact as far as I am concerned. But Admin should take note and not blur the boundary lines in view of personalities.

I didn't read a post that named any individual a reprobate, nor one that labeled the entire community reprobates.

What I did read was that AFF gave a person the opportunity to dialogue with every species of reprobate.

I jokingly replied, perhaps in poor taste, "And several sub-species."

The comment was perhaps ill-considered, but not meant to impugn an entire community.

I would point out though that I have in the past few days read where homosexuals who used to believe this Truth have defended their homosexuality; what would you call that? I have also read where people who onced preached the same message I do will declare up and down that baptism in Jesus name is not essential, nor is the Holy Ghost.

I think it would be well to quote the exact post or posts, so that we can know exactly what was said.

Please don't confuse this issue with actual facts.
