Why are there so many divorces amongst tongue talkers, if they are the only ones saved, why are the divorce rates similar to the world?

I agree with the part about divorces, but don't always think that church splits are a bad thing, in many cases.

THAT is the question. One would think, with the holy spirit working in peoples lives, that the divorce rate would be a fraction of the world.

Maybe that's the reason some churches cannot get over 200. They split. Like
in a family. When the older children get a certain age, they marry and leave
home and the extended family get larger. My husband and I married 51 yrs ago.
We stayed in the church my parents founded the year before we married. We
raised a family of six children. Each are now married and have 21 children be-
tween the six. Counting the six children's spouses, our family now numbers
37. This includes a grand-daughter in law and our first great-grandchild. 31
of this number attends the church my late parents founded 52 yrs ago.

For years the church didn't grow at a fast pace. But the ones who attended
and stayed through the years, heard great teaching, good solid Bible studies.
I have heard or read several times that we are losing 75-80% of our youth to
the world. WHY! There are reasons this is happening. In a home, if more of the
children are leaving the church after they leave home, there are reasons. I don't
claim to know all the answers, but God has the answers!

Just using what United Praise said about the curse of churches having only
200. Some think big when talking about church numbers, but when talking
about family numbers, it seems to be a bit different!

I think it's funny that you have brought the small family vs big family topic into this....when it has nothing to do with church growth.

Re: The 200 curse!!!

The 200 barrier is due to the fact that this size is about the largest that one pastor can effectively handle. If a pastor is less effective, than the number will be smaller. If he is more effective, than it will be larger.
If you find a pastor who has a great passion for souls and is a fantastic "manager" than you wind up with a church that will grow and grow!
The best growing church that I ever attended was/is pastored by a man who did not begin pastoring until he was in his 40's. He was a good business man and has applied a lot of the principles in his managing of the church.
Consequently, in 15 years, he has built a church from zero to 1200 people, now.
