Health Care Bill

Go to this website, read it, it won't take long, it is a summary.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_1...46-503544.html

After you have read it then post what you think is not good for the American people.

Re: Health Care Bill

Did you miss the part on paying higher taxes? That's bad.

How about the federal government forcing people to purchase a product...that's bad.

And how about an un-biased source for once? CBS is in the tank for liberals, you couldn't even open up a link to Fox News and stay consistent on your distain for that network.

Re: Health Care Bill

The only thing that I read was that people running to the emergency room without insurance was going to have to get insurance that is very cheap (about $57 a month). That will keep the insurance rates down, and the ones paying for insurance won't have to pay for the ones that don't have it. Does that make any sense to you? Did you even read the summary?

I check out Fox News and they do not have the Health Care Bill on their website.

I read the summary, or else how would I know about the taxes mentioned? But, I haven't read the entire bill, have you?
I think whatever summaries we find need to be compared to the actual bill.

The regulations that are being put on the insurance companies are going to raise the premiums. (they already have begun) They have to, they must raise those premiums, or else they go out of business.
However, that may be just what the Obama administration and co. are hoping, then there will have to be that single payer option...but, I'm not sure how that would work.

This monstrosity of a bill has to be paid for somehow, even with the neat little summary with the "goodies" mentioned, can't stop the fact that 500 billion dollars will be cut from medicare to help pay for this.

The money has to come from somewhere and it's going to have to come from nearly everywhere to pay for all of this. That's just the facts.

I think it all will come down to the SC and if Justice Kennedy sides with the conservatives on the court. The federal government is going to have to prove it has the right to force Americans to purchase a product.

Re: Health Care Bill

That is being discussed right now on CSPAN-2 .... Turn on your TV and listen. They are telling where the money is coming from, saving in one area to pay for another. It is really good what is being said from both parties.

Do you think lyin to the people is bad?

January 05, 2011|By Duke Helfand, Los Angeles TimesAnother big California health insurer has stunned individual policyholders with huge rate increases — this time it's Blue Shield of California seeking cumulative hikes of as much as 59% for tens of thousands of customers March 1.
Yikes!!

Obama said rates would fall by as much as 3000%.

I do.

http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jan...rates-20110106

Is a 59% rate hike good for the American people?

In all, Blue Shield said, 193,000 policyholders would see increases averaging 30% to 35%, the result of three separate rate hikes since October.

Nearly 1 in 4 of the affected customers will see cumulative increases of more than 50% over five months

Don't have time to watch tv. Our group insurance is going up and we have to make money to pay for insurance for employees and people that get free coverage and don't work.

Of course we are at work. No we aren't making money. We work hard to pay insurance to keep from getting cancelled and so we can pay taxes to cover free insurance for people that don't work.

Re: Health Care Bill

SS - my company profited greatly from the health care bill and stands to profit even more on down the line. With that said, the basic premise of the healthcare bill is not to cut costs or cover every person.
The basic premise is to run the private insurance companies out of business, so that government healthcare can step in.
I have had 3 briefing sessions with our companies legal team, as well as our lobbyists, who spent quite some time on this.
Most of this act will be tied up in court for a few years anyway.
