Re: Progressivism? Socialism? Communism?

It is easy to be generous with someone else's money.

Yep... as they say... the trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Re: Progressivism? Socialism? Communism?

Seascapes is a prime example of being generous with someone else's money.

She/he has some kind of notion that the people who have worked hard, laid everything on the line and EARNED a good deal of money, owe it to him/her.

God has asked us to give of the heart, not by force of the government.

I don't understand how you can know God and think the government is suppose to be His Hands.

It is a personal, spiritual mandate and a moral responsibility. It was never meant to be included as part of the government's responsibility in a God directed society, except as part of the Temple tithing (flat tax) and field gleaning options (flexible tax, voluntary amount) systems.

Family, even an extended family, carried the primary responsibility to care for it own, even to it own widows (see the story of Ruth as an example of both gleaning and supporting). However, with the destruction of the family unit, we have the government taking over the role of national 'parent'. A role that no impersonal government can adequately fulfill.

A mindset of entitlement is a self perpetuating addiction that causes you to hate others because they don't support your addiction.

That explains alot.

It must also explain the "head in sand" syndrome.

All anyone has to do is look to what has happened in Greece, Ireland, etc..

Do we as Americans really want to face that. And what are we leaving for our children and grandchlidren? That sickens me to even consider.
