Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott Thursday wrote a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressing his displeasure with the OSCE's approach, stating that "an unnecessary political agenda may have infected OSCE's election monitoring." Texas law, he notes, does not allow "unauthorized individuals" within 100 feet of polling places. He asked Clinton to work with the OSCE to ensure the group abides by the state law or they will risk "legal consequences."
The OSCE may be entitled to its opinions about voter ID laws, but your opinion is legally irrelevant in the United States, where the Supreme Court has already determined that voter ID laws are constitutional," Abbott wrote. "Groups and individuals from outside the United States are not allowed to influence or interfere with the election process in Texas."

Scotty, I'm sorry but this sort of thing is what bothers me. You seemed to be highly concerned about the international intervention when the implication was it was President Obama allowing it. However, immediately after hearing that President Bush had actually invited the same body, you were loling... I just go crazy with the lack of objectivity and consistency in these conversations, but rarely is it crystallized so quickly (in three posts).

Actually, my point in pointing out the UN's concern with our elections didn't really pertain to Obama. Notice how I stated the first line about Obama's new fan club members, then began the UN statement with "Meanwhile".... I made no attempt to connect Obama to the UN's actions. The fact that the UN is not only getting involved but feel they have an obligation to protect our election process is a disturbing issue by itself, IMO.
The Florida comment was tic. I personally don't care who invited them, their stated goal of protecting the process from 'conservatives' is laughable. Do you believe Bush would have invited them knowing this was their goal?

but I assume continued voter intimidation by the Black Panthers with DOJ approval is OK?
I'm not sure why you would assume that is okay. Any sort of voter intimidation, manipulation, fraud, or misinformation is definitely not okay by anyone towards anyone.
