Christianity's Universality

I have been thinking about the unique manner in which Christianity is able to unify and incorporate believers who maintain extreme variances in culture, upbringing, and background. Wasn't that one of the earliest distinctions of the Christian faith, how Jesus chose disciples that were, by and large, cut from a different cloth?

Being that we here in America make up perhaps, 5 percent of the world's population, isn't it neat to sit back and watch how the rest of our brethren carry on? Many are ignorant of the notion that they are supposed to mimic the dress and lifestyle of Pre-WW 2 American culture! I have observed how many in Asia have worshipped God with their beautifully choreographed dances. How those from Africa respectfully resist the obsession to build magnificent cathredrals, but rather meet informally in small groups to spread the word of God. How the Scots, and the Brits, and the Jamaicans, and the Spanish all serve God without compromising their own identities. Isn't it a beautiful thing about Christianity that no matter your nationality, you are not required to give up the things that make you...you?

Re: Christianity's Universality

Very interesting observation, God seems to be going about His purpose, working with His creation in every place without regard to limitations placed on Him by one group are another. Great thread, hope it draws much input.
