My wife, who is very active in District Ladies ministry, tells me that more and more she sees women speakers who's mannerisms and demeanor seem to be quite masculine. They scream, pound the pulpit, line everybody out on standards and such.
Recently, I had a chance to watch a lady preacher from TBN. Her first name was Paula (I can't remember the last name). She exhibited what my wife told me she keeps seeing at some of our "ladies" conferences.
It was revolting. I can't stand to see male preachers who priss around like fairies, and I can't stand to see women preachers/speakers who stomp around like lumberjacks.
Does feminism have a place in the Apostolic movement?

If women weren't pro-active in a lot of areas we'd still be living in the dark ages regarding many things. Like the vote for example. Some of those suffragettes suffered a lot to see that brought about.
Just a thought! Maybe giving women the right to vote wasn't such a good idea. Look what kind of leaders are being voted in because of the women's vote.
What is a thread? A thread is a chain of posts made by posters in which they express their opinions, thoughts, beliefs, experiences, etc.
Usually a thread is started around a particular "topic". Like the title of this thread was "Apostolic Feminists". But then very often the conversation drifts as this one did and became centered around a particular lady speaker and what she was speaking on, also her mannerisms, etc.
So when we say "that thread made me hoppin mad or that thread really encouraged me what we are talking about is what is said in posts by the individuals that make the posts.
Some threads make admin so upset they shut them down or delete them. But it's not the thread itself that's the problem. It's what makes up the thread, namely posts by posters that are sometimes rude or inflammatory or unGodly.
The kind of posts not allowed on this board is covered under Rules of Conduct.
So ... what is a thread? A chain of posts made by posters.
God bless you all.
The thread was closed by moi after a request from the floor for self moderation. It was not deleted and although the posts were not altered or removed, they seem to be reading differently.
So again, did you say what you said when you say you did not say you said what you said you are saying?
Where is Newman to decipher all this doublespeak?
