I agree with this. The law became fulfilled in Christ, and now the spirit of Christ within us can do what the law could not do.
Romans 8:3-4 "For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit."

Re: Determining which biblical laws apply today.
Am,en, Scott. And the whole point of reference to Law in the epistles is to show that resorting to rule books to cause ourselves to do good and avoid evil is "walking after the flesh." People think of murdering and stealing and fornicating when they read "walk not after the flesh." That's not the issue at all. It is serving God through oldness of the Letter. Rom 7:6. And when we try to do that, we fail miserably.
That is how Law was a lesson to people that they NEED CHRIST and the GIFT of righteousness. And they need HIS SPIRIT in them to empower them to do good and avoid evil.
So many miss the entire point of reference to Law.

So if nobody is obligated to follow it then nobody is obligated to honour their parents or avoid idols or stay faithful to their spouse. Cool!

Actually I think I'm right on the money.
The context of the discussion boils down to "what commands of God do I not have to. obey." If one is not obligated to do something, that means they don't have to do it. People have confused "not being under the old covenant" with "not having to obey those commands of God I don't like."
Whether it's the fourth commandment or the prohibition against cross-dressing or whatever it may be.

Re: Determining which biblical laws apply today.
Does anyone have an old copy of "Pastor Assisted STudent-ORiented, Study Course" by Nathaniel J. Wilson? It's a 5 volume set.
If you do, please send me a PM.
Thank you ahead of time.
