You would not allow for God to give this generation something new and wonderful?
Not something no other generation since the cross could not have.

Ohhh, that "we"! Well we have a whole lot more than the 66-book canon! Maybe I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion. I thought you believed that the usual OT+NT Bible is the Word of God, all of it and nothing else.
Oh, I DO believe the OT and NT are ALONE the Word of God in written form. All mankind has access to it.

"Many Christians do not try to understand what was written in a verse in the Bible. Instead they approach the passage to prove what they already believe."
And to the Apocrypha, the Book of Mormon, the Quran, etc.
Where do you get this doctrine from, that those 66 books alone are the Word of God?
Logic of faith. The bible makes this claim. I have proved the bible true in seeing its claims come to pass that said would come to pass, and faith is thereby instilled in my heart to lead to these conclusions.
This is not a science that can be proved without the all important element of faith. So there is no use trying to make it something that discounts faith.

Where? Where does it claim that Genesis is the inspired word of God? Where does it claim Exodus is the inspired Word? Leviticus? Numbers? Etc.? Where does the Bible itself to support the 66-book canon?

Paul referred to the Law and Psalms and prophets as the Scripture. Ask any Jew. And he said all scripture is given by inspiration of God. Peter referred to Paul's letters among the scriptures. Jesus said people would believe on him through the words of the apostles in John 17.

There's a lot of that going around......And the problem is, logic is lost in the millions of opinions, of billions of people, by a dimension we cannot see, leaving those with logic wondering who is right amidst thousands of denominations all using the same Book.

I don't think you can use scriptures to arrive at the same set of 66 books "we" have now. (And how would you know where to start, anyway? Start with the wrong "scripture" and you'll end up with the Quran or something!) Some books are quoted in others, but they also quote non-canonical books, like the Book of Enoch. If it's important to know that those 66 are the right ones, then this is one exception to the claim that "all important doctrines are clear". So, how does one know which ancient (or modern) writings are God-inspired and infallible? How do you know which canon, if any, to accept? Or did you make your own?
