Re: What "type" of church do you attend?

Oh, my, there's a lot of scriptural foundation in that one, hmm?

It's worse than "I'm so glad to be called a one God Christian" except for the attitude behind it (of someone having their say about standards without actually "preaching").

You might find some disagreement here on that.

Also, there is no ONE UPC CHURCH. Each local church and each minister all believe many things differently than each other.

(And yes, I've counted the number of repetitions. I'm not exaggerating. It was sung at about 2-3 beats per minute, and everyone was expected to hand clap, foot stomp, and aisle run their way through it, too. Talk about a cardiac workout!)

PS-I like the song, but don't really want to sing it 75 times

Re: What "type" of church do you attend?

Last time we went, on Easter, we went to an Evangelical church. I went to the Catholic church once this summer with my extended family.

The members of the Apostolic church of the 1st century couldn't run the aisles.....there were no aisles to run!!

Sadly the Apostolic aisle runners were not found for many centuries until the sudden appearance of Apostolic aisle runners after 1913.

Re: What "type" of church do you attend?

I am probably one of the few on this forum that claim to not be oneness pentecostal anymore OR pentecostal at all.

When I came to this forum four or five years ago I was a guitar player in a strong UPC church. I had many questions. Our church split and I am now a reformed calvinist and attend a traditionally baptist church with about 8000 in attendance each Sunday. I still have family ties to the UPC but other than that I have almost no association with pentecostals or charismatics.
