I don't have a problem with questioning her education or knowledge. I never did.

None of these individuals ran for the highest office in the land. They are never in the position of being high profile like Palin is. But you can be sure that if Newt ran for President he will get attacked one way or another on something.
Palin is a rough around the edges kind of person. She appeals to the home maker. That does not make her stupid. She was caught flat footed in one interview and it forever portrayed her as being an imbecile...welcome to Hollywood. Any politician can go on an talk show and not know what the questions were gonna be ahead of time and be unprepared and be made to look like a fool.

Palin's intellectualism is attacked and people want to call that hate speech???

No that's not what is happening. The topic here is not "The Questioning of Palin's Intellect is hate speech"...I don't know where you are getting that from. She is not being attacked on her Intellectualism or lack there of. Rather she is being wrongfully and spitefully blamed for producing men like that nut that shot everyone in Arizona. Then when she uses the term blood libel, which was also used a day or so earlier in the NY Post, she was castigated for using it because centuries ago that was a term Christians used to slam Jews...so now she is being portrayed by the media in a certain way because of that.
It's just absurd. People were calling Bush a nazi and all kinds of rude things as to his intellect. He was an idiot and what not...it was all political. You know that very well. The slams agains Palin were POLITICALLY motivated. This shooting is being used as an opportunity by the left to malign her.
That is the issue

Palin's intents are questioned with her poor choice of words, but she represents the extreme right in the minds of some. Could it be that in their minds', her intents were not clear?
Palin has a terrible image and the onus on her to fix it.

No the issue was and is that the LEFT have dirty hands but they stick one finger in their mouth, suck off the dirt and point it at the RIGHT.
This thread started off pointing out that the LEFT are just as guilty..yet my point about the left that claim "It's both sides" are right and others like you who ignore what the left does and points fingers at the right then makes excuses for the constant ratchet of rhetoric at at time we were being asked to tone it down!
Political Opportunist!
