Years ago, I was alone here as my kids were in school and my closest neighbors at work. Two guys were trying to break into their back window. I saw them, called the Sheriff's Dept., got my shotgun and hollered at them and told them to leave. If I hadn't had that 20 gauge in my hands they probably wouldn't have listened to me. And they were caught. They were breaking into houses in rural areas stealing guns.

I don't know about that, glad they took off though. I don't think I would want to kill anyone unless I had to. Definetly not over property. You can replace property, but not people.

Neither am I, but I certainly wouldn't go blasting away at someone breaking into my neighbor's house. Y'all seem to be ok with that though, so I guess to each his own.
Rico, I clicked on the link you gave about the amount of murder/rape/burglaries per city. I think that that chart alone highlights why people are fed up with lawlessness and victimization. There is an entire sub-culture in our country who seem to think that other innocent people (my family and yours) are here for them to victimize, abuse, terrorize, and live off of. I think that the message does need to be sent that that is not a viable option for them.
