Yeah ... okay ... skirt the issue ...

You've made various allusions to "charismatics" singing Jesus boyfriend songs before .... let's examine sexuality on the ideological level .... I'm game.

You are absolutely right.

This is a red flag that I have observed in some on the fringes of the radical right. No doubt about it.

But I am not one of those fellows, and this issue bugs me.

It is easy to see men really do hate church.

Look around this Sunday and see the differential of women vs. men in attendance.

The way we do church doesn't appeal to men.

I believe holiness but I don't preach the old traditional "clothesline message". As a matter of fact at our church you won't hear that preached but you will see LOTS of modest people living holiness standards. The difference is that we focus on being like Jesus. The more like Jesus we get the more modest we become.

If preacher constantly preaches about women's clothes he has issues.

Spiritual perversion usually goes hand in glove with sexual perversion.

You find it on both lunatic fringes--left and right.

I am not a prude, and am not conflicted or hung up when it comes to sexuality.

But neither am I inclined to discuss it in a mixed venue, except in very general terms.

I absolutely agree with the last sentence.

But would you agree there needs to be some sort of dress code in the church?

There is always that one preacher who boldly professed none of the women in his church wore a certain kind of undergarment.

Seems where discussing sexuality in a mixed venue ... right now ... including your references to "queers" ... in your words.

I didn't say that we don't have a dress code. We have platform standards that must be followed. It is just that if you come to our church the "message of the hour" usually won't be how people are dressed or should be dressed. Those things are taught in other sessions. There are times that while Bro. Dobbs is preaching that standards do come out which is ok. I am not against that but it just is not something we harp on all the time from the pulpit in regular services.
