Where you end up in eternity will be determined
by decisions you make while living here on Earth.
But, you already know that....I have NO doubt.
I know the story, yeah. But I was just offering you all the chance to explain it to me, one more time: why is a Savior necessary, again? (Yes, I already know the answer. But I want someone to say it! Why do I, Timmy, need a Savior? I need to be saved from what, exactly? And why am I in that predicament of needing saving?)

Fine, then. I'll explain it myself. And I'll try to be accurate. Corrections are welcome.
I need to be saved from God's wrath. He's very angry with me for the sins I have committed. It wouldn't really matter what sins, nor how many, nor how severe: any sin is bad enough to bring it on.
God demands absolute perfection, or He will kill you. He has to, because He's perfect. And since I am not perfect, I must die. It is what I deserve. Nobody can deserve to live. It is not possible to be perfect. We all deserve to be punished for not be able to do the impossible.
So unless I am saved from it, I will end up receiving the punishment I deserve (which, besides mere "death", also includes, depending on who you believe, eternal torment in the lake of fire, or annihilation, or eternal separation from God, or a number of other possibilities).
So, a Savior is needed so I can avoid the horrible punishment that I deserve.
How'd I do?

This is pretty much the standard view, yup. Where you say "God will kill you," I understand that it would be me killing myself, in ignorance--and there are other models than that ridiculous Original Sin one you are quoting, just so you know. Let the dead bury the dead?

'Bout time you showed up!

Do I deserve punishment of death? (I'm not asking if I will die. Don't answer the wrong question!)
If so, why do I deserve punishment of death?
Is it possible not to deserve punishment of death?
(Use any definition of "die" that you like, but please spell that definition out for us. )

Well, if you don't believe in sin then there is no need for you to have a Savior, right? Well I think that most people don't ever question if there is sin or not so they also don't question that everyone needs a Savior either. I am not sure where I stand on all that anymore other than I stand with an open mind.

I don't exactly question whether there is sin or not. I certainly don't deny that I have done wrong. Do I deserve death as my punishment?
(Of course, I am mainly asking folks who do know where they stand on these matters. )

I can tell you that I was sure of the answers...months ago...now I am not sure of anything, but that Timmy is the coolest fool on AFF...next to me of course. LOL
I think from a redemptive angle sure we all deserve death...but from the Jesus angle no one deserves death because didn't Jesus take care of that for everyone?
Timmy....
