By the way, and a little off-topic, if you think talent really matters much in the big scheme of things, read Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers. Amazing. Bottom line, studies have shown that success is about opportunity + practice, practice and more practice. Talent might give someone a very minor jump start, but that's about it.

Re: Speaking of Talent vs. Anointing...
I believe that we often mistake talent, annointing, and the blessings of God when we have these discussions. Talent would be what we can do ourselves, annointing comes for a specific time and purpose, but those who retain the blessings of God are the ones who should be emulated. I have been in concerts and heard talented singing, and felt God even give a certain annointing to a singer (after the song ended the Spirit was nearly as heavy in that place as it is before tongues and interpretation). This did not mean that the blessings of God were upon that singer. That only comes with walking with God in the fulness of truth. Those who leave truth leave the blessings of God and will only occasionally have the annointing. For those who doubt, look at the lives of Saul, Sampson, and Solomon.

If you acquired it.. then it was skill, not talent. Talent cannot be acquired, taught, built, grown, or learned....those are skills. Talent is something God given, that resides in you from the beginning of you...whether you know it or not... talent is God given... not acquired. It may take acquiring some skills to properly master your talent and fully realize it's potential, but talent cannot be acquired..... huge difference between supernatural talent and natural skill.

I agree.

And there is nothing wrong with me calling it as I see it, either...
