Not necessarily saying Rod Parsley carries the same tone of condemnation as OPII, but I could just hear OPII when he's on his rant...with that familiar Pentecostal evangelist-style "And GAAAAAAWWD-uh said-uh don't you daaaaaaaare cut that hair, and don't you daaaaaaaaaaaaaare watch that TV-uh," etc, etc.
...like he'd add an extra syllable to every other word, like "uh."

I was feeling a bit like a masochist and tried listening to a number of sermons on a holiness preaching site the other day. Every single one I (tried) to listen to turned into a screaming "uh!" tirade a few short minutes into it. One guy said "amen" after every sentence and often a couple of times per line. I made a good faith attempt to listen for a bit to each but the head was hurting too much from the shouting as well as the total lack of any real content in what they were saying.
That is AWESOME! I picked a preacher at random, and one of his sermons was "The Dark Side of God". Started out calmly enough. And I got tired of waiting for the good stuff, so I skipped to the middle. Yep. He's mad. Er, I mean, so I skipped to the middle-ah! And yes-ah! He's mad-ah!

It is uncanny how that is the case with virtually every sermon on that site! (I am sure there are some exceptions, but I haven't found it yet.) There was one guy who didn't scream as much as the others but he said "amen" at the end of every sentence and often more then once.

Thanks a whole lot, RANDY! I'm not feeling very secure right now. When I'm insecure I become nostalgic for the holiness movement.
I didn't hear a whole lot of holiness preaching so much as borderline insane shouting. I kept thinking how easy it would be to write a preaching program which would put random words together and how it statistically would make more sense 50% of the time.
