I was just mentioning to someone that my son is actually going to receive extra credit from his government teacher for attending the tea party- Who says private school isn't cool???

At this point, I'm not convinced there are all that many good parts currently in Washington. The Republican party is a big, fat failure, IMO. All of the old, stodgy, fence riding, "don't want to offend anyone" politicians need to go away. I'm actually irritated that Joe Wilson apologized for his outburst. I don't care that it was rude or lacking in decorum--why is he apologizing for stating his opinion? Would a democrat do the same? The Republicans are so busy stumbling over themselves trying to appease liberals, they can't even do what we're voting them into office to do.
IMO, if a few good apples get tossed out, they can find a way to get back in. I think 100% fresh blood would make a BIG difference, and take away a lot of double dealing, corrupt power. At the very least, voters need to take a hard look at every single candidate and make sure they're voting them in or back in because they are going to follow through, and have a record of speaking up & speaking out with votes to match their rhetoric.
No one was upset because he stated his opinion. People were upset because he chose to do it in the middle of a speech by the President of the United States. What would happen if every member of Congress decided to express their opinions outloud throughout the entire speech?
I thought it showed a real lack of class and self restraint and basic respect.

That certainly seems like a group of respectable folks there. They seem pretty classy to me.
That looks like a lot of the tea folks on YouTube.
They can raise their voices - just don't hit anyone! Nothing wrong with raising your voice to express your views. The setting is appropriate for that and well within their rights as American citizens.
Did you want them to walk around like Zombies? Or better yet, put duct tape on their mouths? You might be a Redneck......

Mike, I'm into basic courtesy and etiquette. It definitely was a lack of etiquette--I get that. But to be castigated by the Democrats who patently disrespect naysayers on a regular basis? Who disrespect Republican presidents without apology? Who disrespect American citizens on the basis that they showed up at town hall meetings to express their opinions? I get sick of the Democrats demanding apologies and the Republicans catering to them. It's nauseating. I would like to see SOMEONE defend themselves --even if they were out of line. It would at least show that they believe in themselves, that they have a shred of confidence in their own views. I know that's perverse, but I really am tired of the kicked dog routine.
It seems like the Republican party is missing its spine. ...mainly talking about the leadership--not the constituents.

No zombies needed, PO.
A lot of those tea people are into the whole shouting others down thing. When people say things they don't like they start these goofy chants and basically just try to out scream others.
I'm not saying some of their ideas aren't good, a lot of them just come across as antagonistic, confrontational yo yo's.
