Just a few weeks ago I was privileged to spend some time with one of the giants of Pentecost period over the last 60 years, of the UPCI in particular and I asked him a question as things were leading up to the Tampa conference.
I said that I wished they could interview KP and ask him if leaving the UPCI over this issue was worth it after all. This elder's response astounded me. He said that he was good friends with KP and had recently visited that church on a whim and KP saw him and had him come up and preach for him. (I write that to establish the man's "verifieds" as others on here will claim this is gossip or he is not friends with KP, probably will anyhow but there it is.) He said that on two different occasions over the years since he left the UPCI that KP had made attempts to get back in and both times was rebuffed. He told me that KP told him that it is vicious and lonely running in the circles he is running in.
Some food for thought ...
I1, it is no secret to me that KP has attempted to come back to the mother ship. and indeed, it can be vicious. I really feel for him.

It was interesting to me as I had, naively evidently, assumed when one left they left and that was that. The church I grew up dropped out of the UPCI at the time of affirmation statement and so I assumed that most of the fellas were as thankful to be out of the bondage of legalism as my former pastor was.
Go back and read his initial post - it seems he thinks the only healing will be brought about if KH goes to Tulsa and reverses the decision made by the constituency.
Maybe this decision IS the healing that the UPCI needed........the dissension will now be minimized by the departure of those who do not agree with the decision.
Right...some times healing means getting rid of what ails ya

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
It's as simple or complicated as we make it, Barb.

It seems that I keep hearing these words in my inner beings when I see this thread title...
We don’t need another political uprising
We don’t need another conqueror on the scene
What we need is a special word that will burn within our hearts
And give us direction from above
We need a word from the Lord...a word from the Lord
Just one word from the Lord will move all the doubts
And cause the sun to shine and give peace of mind
Speak Lord...speak, Lord
Lord, we lack Thy wisdom and Thy understanding
Lord, we lack the very love You showed in the Son
Lord, we’ve altered in Thy ways and we stand so much to gain
So give us your word, Lord...speak Lord
We need a word from the Lord...a word from the Lord
Just one word from the Lord will move all the doubts
And cause the sun to shine and bring peace of mind
Speak Lord...speak, Lord
