I think women can be called to the ministry also. One of those callings is to be a pastors wife- I know it is not in the Bible- I have attended churches where the wife was a help and could be called a co- pastor, I have attended churches where the wife was a hindrance to the pastor, by constantly meddling and offending saints, and I have attended churches where the wife was behind the scenes than attending church and visiting with the pastor. I do not think that titles are all that necessary.

Let me ask this...

I could see someone earning this title by working hard at home and at church.. but are they just entitled to it by being married to the Pastor?

Does your Pastor's Wife call herself Pastor?
No, she is not entitled to call herself "pastor" by being married to the pastor (or ever, since God does not call women to leadership in the Church). It's a really stupid thing to suggest that she is because it's like a wife calling herself a "doctor" or a "lawyer" or a "machinist" just because her husband is one.

I am blessed that our church loves my wife and allows her to simply be herself. If they did not, we would have to chat about it.

But I travel some and preach out, and one problem I have run into in several places is that the pastor's wife seems to be a target for some who might not have guts enough or be foolhardy enough to attack her husband.

If she is a worker and has a strong personality, then she is too controlling.

If she is quiet and laid back, then she isn't involved enough and needs to be up and doing, the lazy thing.

I cannot stand bullies, and bullies that prey on a pastor's wife because they know she is limited in her ability to respond are some of the worst kind.

I am a peaceable person, and do not like confrontation of any kind, but you mess with my wife and I will be in your hair, Pronto.

I am blessed to not only have a wonderful wife, but my pastor's wife is also one of the absolute greatest people of either gender that I have ever met. I'd fight for her in a heartbeat. She is precious and a saint in every way.

As much fun as it is to sit back and slice and dice pastor's wives, try and remember that they don't have an easy task.

Soft words turn away wrath.......

I tend to agree with the underlined portion, but not the attitude in which you seemed to have written it.......

And for the record, I do not think a woman is entitled to call herself pastor because she is married to one.

I don't believe in lady pastors period.

This is true... I don't think it's fun to slice and dice... it all depends on WHO your talking about.. there are some precious jewels out here or there for sure... then there are others who are zirconia stones in a diamonds world..

But hopefully they are few and far between...

There are a few topics that tend to draw out the slicers like a cowpile draws flies.

This is one of those topics.

So I thought I would make a comment or two by way of prevention.

I'm one of the easiest going and easiest to get along with folks you'll ever meet, but I feel the same way about my wife and kids. You had sooner get between a Grizzly Bear and His food pile as to mess with my family.

I think any man worth his salt feels that way.
