I know plenty of PCI folks who don't rob banks.
Or do other things that are wrong... like uh... well, never mind.

Care to give a little more detail?

CC,

It wasn't just a matter of switching from one doctrinal position to another.

He got his conscience shot full of holes and riddled by those who chipped away at the foundations of everything he had ever been taught.

Some people can take that and some can't ever really recover.

That's why it is a dnagerous thing to do.

Let's not make this silly.

Obviously robbing banks isn't a hallmark of those who espouse the PCI position; but becoming disillusioned to the point of making incredibly bad choices is sometimes an effect of having the foundation of your faith ripped out from under you.

I still think you are getting the horse ahead of the carriage. I think it is clear he was headed down a path that ultimately did not include God or Pentecost in any shape or form. Old time Pentecost and lib Pentecost were just stops in the road for him.

You blaming lib Pentecost for his state makes as much sense as me blaming his conservative UPC upbringing on him turning out the way he did.

The truth of the matter is that there is a character flaw at work here and I have a suspicion perhaps some "enviromental" factors.

Bottom line is when a person breaks from a correct relationship with God and relies on his own intellect alone he is doomed for failure and disaster. If not in this life then in the one to come.

Submission to God's word and Spirit is not exclusive to old time Pentecost and when people lay that down they are doomed.

I doubt very seriously he laid that down at the point he was a lib Pentecostal.
We were just a bump in his proverbial road.

You are right, Ron.

Some so-called Christians did let him down.

They took a young man with a bright mind and a lot of potential, and turned him into a complete and total spiritual wreck.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!
