JMHO.
What made you draw the conclusion that he was referring to AFF?

The statements quoted seem to refer to other sites. Googling those catch-phrases doesn't bring up a single hit on AFF (until this thread perhaps).

Of course, scanning and posting the whole article would clear up a lot of misunderstanding. Email the image to me... I'll post it.

Re: Perspectives Sounding Social Network Alarms

Change is always reviled by the old guard. One day our grand children will be struggling against the "standards" that become codified in our more modern movements. For example while we might embrace the television and the internet in our generation, while past generations didn't, our grand children will be debating the use of a holographic panel that essentially makes the internet and television 3D right in front of you. We'll have preachers talking about how an ol' 2D television screen or computer monitor was good enough for Paul and Silas, so it should be good enough for all of us.

The coming of change is the one thing that never changes.

Oh... that's his wife. Every time I've heard him say "Mick" I thought he was just talking about the Irish.

I don't know ... maybe someone who knows her should ask her ... and plug the leaks coming from the state of Lousiana.

But ... let's not obfuscate the very reality that these guys read places like AFF and often participate .... only to slam it on their bully pulpits.

Don't visit the red light district ... and you won't be confused for being part of the riff-raff or hoi polloi without doctrine.

Don't you think they read here to see what's being said. Just because they read here doesn't mean they approve of it.

Is that like visiting porn sites for research purposes?

I think that's stretching it a bit. I don't think reading AFF would be any comparison to visiting a porn site.

Red herring, Dan.

You're a smart guy, you know the two don't compute.

I would question how PM knows what's being said on the forums without reading it himself, but I don't think it's disingenuous for him to decry the things being said even though he, or his wife, visit the forums to read.

Just because I don't like an editorial in the newspaper doesn't mean I'm going to stop reading the paper, and it doesn't make me a hypocrite if I DO read the paper.

I can agree to this, I lurk all the time, and approve of very little
