Father, provide for my sister! She needs your provision and favor! And I THANK you for it in Jesus name, c'ause you are ALL THAT. Amen.
I know God can provide sis. My family was about to loose our home. We negotiated with the bank and sent them paperwork and just when it seemed like all hope was lost...they refinanced everything and now guess what....we got a lower payment than we had before, about $100 lower.
Just last week my wife and I were in San Fransico. God provided the entire trip. Two plane tickes were given to us, my mother-in-law paid for a ticket for our two year old, and our week's stay at the Grand Hyatt was paid for. Then guess what...we bought an entertainment book for San Fran. We were going to use a coupon for the San Fran Zoo...buy one get one free. While my wife was trying to find the coupon in her purse, a lady walks up to us and asks if we were about to go into the Zoo. We said we were and she explained that she had season tickets she couldn't use because she had to leave town...and gave us two tickets! Paid nothing to get in. Then the very NEXT DAY we were down at the Fisherman's Warf thinking about springing for a bus tour around the city and then guess what....we bumped into a friend FROM DAYTON OHIO. LOL After some greetings and all he asked where we were headed and we told him that we were headed to buy the bus tour tickets. He said we'd love it. And then he looked at his wife, turned back to us and said, "You know, our plane leaves tomorrow and these tickets are good for two days, why don't you guys use them." And he handed me tickets. These tickets were "jump on-off" tickets good for two days. So we could ride these buses, get off where we wanted, catch the next one (30 minutes apart) for two whole days. And here's a kicker....one of their stops was Union Square...right next to our hotel! LOL Our dinner was bought for us twice. The wife and I took a "red-eye" home so our boy would sleep the entire flight. To relax and fall asleep in those god-awful seats the wife and I got two glasses of chardonnay. The male steward handed us two glasses of white and walked away to tend to other passengers. On his way back up the isle I offered him my bank credit card to pay for it...he said, "I'll take care of it later, just enjoy your flight sir." Guess what...he never came back and waved me away when I made eye contact. lol Lastly...we used the tax rebate money we got earlier this year for spending cash while in San Fran...so we didn't have to touch our bank account the entire time we were gone. After we got back from vacation...we did the math and we actually made money...just enough to cover some plumbing we needed taken care of! Every expense was practically on the Lord, even the wine! LOL
If my God provided all that for my family (and we ain't ultra-cons, so we don't deserve it) I know he will provided for you sis.
Bro Chris... thanks for sharing this story... it is so true and God is so good and sometimes we marvel at just how much he loves us kiddos!!!! But He does show it every day in every way and sometimes in ways we just do not understand! Your story is so much like many of the ones we have had happen to us. I have no doubt God will keep and take care of our dear sister here... and her kids... and thank you so much for sharing this story... God loves us and he does want us to be happy
So what area are you going into in nursing? I'm peds myself.
I will be working in the IMCU, which is a step-down unit of the ICU. Since I'm a new grad, there is an orientation program I'll be involved in called Nursing Excellence. It's a 26-32 week program where I'll be orientated to every unit of the hospital, even spending a couple days in Imaging, Cardiac Cath Lab, OR, ER, and even a couple hours in pharmacy.
The last 6 weeks is where they will evaluate my handling a full patient load. If they feel I'm competent, I'm on my own. I'm evaluated every two weeks from the onset.
I'm pretty excited. I've been a LPN in long-term care for three years, and although I'm moving into an acute care situation, having four patients instead of 24 seems like a no-brainer! LOL! Of course, having been through the program and having done a 6 patient load during my transition clinicals, I'm well aware of how much different it is, so I'm not thinking it's a breeze. I take my job seriously.
How do you like peds? I'm not into kids, so peds and maternity is out...LOL!

I know this has already been thrown out there but we had a situation with my grandmother about a month ago while her nurse was in India for a month... the lady who runs the home health agency called us and told us of a situation exact to what H1 is having... and asked us since all that was being done was she was coming and taking a vile of blood for her protyme and then bp and weight and then one other day i nthe week and sit with her and watch for 2 hrs to observe possibly changes due to the alzheimers if we minded if the nurse was not currently licensed in TX... they gave us papers from the other state showing she had indeed recently passed her exam that they just had to make the papers local...
This nurse encountered no problems at all from any of the regular patients and worked just fine for the entire month and she is now licensed here so if you havent already headed out you might check into this????
The state of Illinois is very strict. No place will allow me to work without a current license in this state, regardless what patients think.
Now, I could do things privately, but would be limited within my scope of practice, which would be more on a CNA level. I could NOT practice as a nurse on my own as I'm not licensed here. MAJOR violation, and it could cost me my license for doing so.
I don't know what the laws in TX are, but I'm thinking they violated the law in doing what they did. If the state found out, I'm sure the agency as well as the nurse would have been in hot water.
However, the state of TX participates in the NLC, which means they are a group of states that allow nurses from other states to practice without having a TX licensure. If that nurse came from one of those states, she was perfectly legal. Wisconsin is also one of those states, but Illinois is not.
If Kentucky wasn't so far away, I could get a job there and start right away, as they are in the NLC also. With gas prices though, it would kill me, even though it's about 60 miles one way.
I apologize, as I don't mean to undermine your help, because in other circumstances it would be quite helpful, so don't stop trying to find solutions. In fact, the HR person I have been working with told me yesterday that if I wasn't able to get back to WI, let her know and she would start me out as a LPN. I looked at her and said, WI license, remember? She hit herself on the head in a V-8 moment, forgetting that even though I went to school here, I took my boards and have been licensed only in WI.
Monday is the big day for me. I hope to find out only good news.
Thanks again, my friend. You are great.

I think you will like this better - even as the level of care increases. As an RN my wife went from 60 geriatric patients (with two assisting LPNs) to 1 - 4 patients in a stress unit and later PEDs. It was a very welcomed change for her!

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves

Kristin is a RN? I had no idea.
And I'm sure I'll like it better, but change is difficult for me. It was nice going to work and knowing all my patients and having a plan of action that rarely changed!
Pass meds, feed them, put them to bed. That was it!
But being a hospital nurse is what I've always dreamed of becoming. I feel like I've finally growned up!

I called HR this morning to confirm the licensing issue and was told that I indeed could start work as soon as I mailed off for my license transfer. However, I was told about 20 minutes later that this is only true for those in this state who already took the boards (which makes no sense because if I took the boards here, I'd already be licensed and able to work).
Anyway, I was told to go to Springfield and personally hand in my stuff and tell them I need results in 24 hours, and they can usually do that. I've been calling all morning to see if that indeed is possible, but only getting a busy signal so far.
My job is working with me to start me ASAP, and I'm about in frantic mode. However, I know God is in control, and His timing is perfect.
I'll let you know any other info as I get it. Thanks for praying!
