Does it follow that he who neglects to put on a ring is also to be considered unwed? Of course not.

The ring is simply a token of the marriage union as baptism is a token of our union with Christ.
He that doesn't beleive is not going to be baptized so there is not reason to state, he that believes not and is baptized not shall be damned.

A ring is not necessary part of the wedding covenant, but baptism is essential to the new birth. It's pretty simple, you are not part of the covenant if you do not act out what is needed to be part of the covenant. You could be born into the nation of Israel but you where not a partaker in Abraham's covenant if you where not circumcised in the foreskin. The circumcision or token of the new covenant, is preform without hands in baptism.

Logic works if you think logically.

I beg to differ.

There are people who go down dry devils and come up wet devils.

They may have felt convicted, but they did not believe. If they had believed then that day would have not been the last time we seen them at church.

People do religious things all the time because it is the right thing to do, not because they believe.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

So I am looking for a church that believes in the infilling of the Holy Ghost but can present the Gospel in a way that does not lead the new convert down a road the equates performance with salvation. I wish the A of G would allow ministers to baptize in Jesus name.
This of course seems to imply that if the Assemblies of God baptized in Jesus name you would be willing to join them.

But the fact that they preach the false Trinity doctrine.... is that unimportant to you?

Good question and I thought about it, of course, after I typed it.

Man, why is it so difficult to find an Apostolic Church that does not add all sorts of stupid man made stuff and call it Gospel???

I don't believe a person has to understand completely who GOD is in order to be saved. But, this is a very dangerous opinion to have and can lead me down a bad road with some twisted people if I am not careful.

Why do the Apostolics I know have to add to the Bible???

If it comes down to it, then try the White Pages or Yellow Pages... there are lots of Apostolic churches in the phone book.

You can just visit one Apostolic church a week till you find one you're comfortable with.

Acts 10:43 states (paraphrased) that everyone who believes on Jesus receives forgiveness of sins, through His name.

If you believe you will be baptized.

Besides, unless Martin Luther is an, "One God, Apostolic, Tongue-talkin', holy roller, born again, Heaven-bound, believer in the liberating power of Jesus name", he is a FALSE PROPHET.

Bro Epley would not need to fall back on a FALSE PROPHET to back him up.

Using this FALSE PROPHET to back your opinion on what the Bible states is the same as using witch craft to validate one's holy magic hair doctrine.
and what happened when they believed? vs. 44 thru 48 tell the complete story.

Yes they did speak in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. Then they were baptized in the name of Jesus.

But this fact does not take away from the other fact that Peter preached that their sins were done away with at believing.

im trying to follow peace with all men thus my more gentle approach.

Yours sure seems to be the popular interpritation here on AFF.... I see Peters words as expressing what happens... the rest of the chapter explains how....

peace.
