Thanks for answering, and yes they can be hard work.

There is a book... "The Spiritual Disciplines", by Stephen Foster, that explains the practice and benefits of the scriptural disciplines of: prayer, fasting, service, meditation, study, and journalling.
There have been several classes that I have taught on the subject and in those classes people prayed for and utilized the gifts of the spirit and demons were cast out. The devil tried to stop one class but God protected it and good things happened despite the enemy trying to shut it down.
Remember, where God is working - the devil tries to horn in and steal the victory or stop the flow of giftings.
Blessings, Rhoni

Re: In The Counsel of Many
Bro Larry you gave an interesting answer here.
12. Can one person have all nine gifts and how can you determine what if any gifts you have, and how can you learn to use them properly? Nobody can operate in the gifts of the Spirit, unless they are first filled with the Holy Spirit. You don’t possess a gift. You operate in a gift, as the Spirit wills. You cannot push a button or flip a switch and operate a gift of the Spirit. They only operate as the Spirit wills.
This is the first time I have heard a gift describe as you have here. Do you have a specific scripture you are thinking of to cause you to believe this? Most folks I know believe you possess those gifts.

Thanks Rhoni. What is the purpose of journalling?

When you are totally concentrating and listening to God - He speaks to you. If you write it down then it gives you a jumping off place for your next intimate time with him.
Many times we pray and list petitions to God but never wait and medicate on what he would say back to us. God, like us, wants a two way communication to take place. He wants us to listen to him as much as we want him to listen to us.
Blessings, Rhoni

People can become so focused on fighting demons that the demons are able to deceive them more readily. It makes demons able to become more realistic in that person’s mind. No demon can materialize and physically attack a human. Signs of physical signs of attack on a person, are not made by direct contact with a demon spirit. You cannot see a spirit with your physical eyes.
I know of a lady minister that was physically drug out of bed by demons!
I have heard people say they have seen demons with their physical eyes.
How would they know when they see a demon if it is their natural eyes or spiritual eyes?
BTW...thanks for your response. I haven't finished reading all of them yet.

Did she suffer any real harm or injury, when"the demon" tumped her out of bed? Do you know if she was heavily involved in the "deliverance" ministry?
"God is a Spirit." "No man hath seen God, at any time" not even Adam and Eve ever saw God. Neither did they see the devil. He had lost his beautiful body, when he sinned. He had to stoop to using a snake for Eve to see him. No being can operate in the Earth without a body. That's why Jesus was born a man , with a body. "Sacrifice and offerings, thou wouldest not, but a body hast, thou prepared me."
That's why the devil is always trying to get in some"body", because he can't do much without a body.

Not that I recall her mentioning. I know she said it took much praying and rebuking to get free from them. And she prayed and fasted much. I know she is a licensed minister, but I can't say if she was heavily involved in "deliverance" ministry, because I really don't know.

Any body who has the Holy Ghost, can be used to operate in one or all of the gifts of the Spirit, if he has the faith; but, it is the Holy Ghost who is really operating them. ( I Cor 12:3-11) No one can operate them at their own will. We are instructed in (Rom 12:6) to exercise the gifts according to the proportion of faith. For example: It doesn't take a lot of faith for most of us to speak with tongues, but it takes a bit more faith to interpret that tongue.
