It is made by taking any kind of your favorite pastry or bread and through moderate heat causing it to "toast". This can go from the range of light to dark, crispy to flaky.

Well, seems like you know exactly how it should be done. So, why don't you just get something going right where you are at? I mean why go somewhere where you obviously will find flaws and eventually try to either change them or topple them? You sound like you know how everything should be put together, so grab your eldership together and start your church group.

I sense your hostility, .....take a chill pill or better yet maybe a little prayer might help.

We are in Middle Tennessee. We do not have plural leadership but have a group of Elders the Pastor has accountability to with no restrictions. These Elders have complete access to church finances and are consulted on major decisions regarding the church, personnel, etc. They also are able and expected to express any misgivings and ask any questions about anything. The Elders are all strong willed independent thinking persons who are not shy in expressing their thoughts and opinions.

The Senior pastor is the primary pulpit pastor. The Executive Pastor handles more of the administrative duties but also has a pulpit ministry. There are other pastors on staff for the children's ministry, teens, college age, etc. They all operate in a collaborative enviroment where all are encouraged to express their thoughts on anything to do with the church and its ministries.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

No, I'm serious. You already know want, you know what you are looking for, even if CC1 was to bring his church family on your front porch they may not be your cup of tea. Hey, you hit them with a rim shot right after CC1 gave you a posted answer. You said it was too Christ like to be true, and you accused him of having a one man rulership church, instead of just asking if he had plurality of elders. So, I think you are the one with the chip.

But I was serious, you know what you want, what you are looking to accomplish, so why go to Apostolic churches in your area when you already know they don't have the leadership which you are looking to sit under? This is only common sense, and since you know it all, then go forward and get your elders together and start what you believe is Christ Like.

I was teasing about "too Christ like" and I was not accusing CC1 I was asking a question, so kindly chill out.

I am curious about church government that works, which, in my definition is to be truly Christ like and not self serving as a congregation. Church leadership that is not afraid to hear and address opposing opinions and equally respects everyone in the congregation.

I would not start a church as I know I'm not even close to being qualified, nor would I want to because I know I'm not called. Too many preachers & pastors out there already that were called by their parents or others and have mistaken that for God's calling IMHO. I don't know it all that is why I'm in this forum asking questions. Don't be so overly sensitive and quick to judge Beni.

Really sounds like a great Church to me! Has it been like that long or is it a fairly new method?

Church government involves elected deacons and elders that tend to the needs of the congregation. This is done apart from sole approval from one man, ex. pastor. Not to say the minister of the word does not have an ear to such but not as a sole decision maker.
