the new fox and cnn polls have obama up by seven points. 11 points among independents. this is a bigger margin than the polls a few months ago. so obama's lead is trending upward. romney has shifted his campaign from the economy toward social issues like welfare and religious freedom. he is focused on the base, not independents and swing voters. the race is as good as over. romney is just going through the motions.

Let me come back to add, because I like reality - I think the timing (so that all we hear about in the next few days is Paul Ryan) is because, his top spokeswoman (Andrea Saul) made the Romneycare gaffe (Although, I didn't view that as a gaffe). Not to mention Governor Lepage (Maine) said he would boycott the Convention if his Maine delegates are not seated. They also, with the delegate lawsuit ongoing, want to walk into Tampa saying, "But we can win with Ryan."

Cry me river, build a bridge, and GET OVER IT!!! They all pick their VPs this way. Gingrich won't be the nominee. Ron Paul won't be the nominee. Get on board PO and vote to keep Obama out of office.

Both statements are true. Romney is shady and Obama is the bottomless pit. You get two points for accuracy.
I'll be voting for the lesser of two evils with a good vp behind him... ie Romney.

LOL! You're going to be needing to change your underwear if you don't calm down. I'm not getting on board, dude. Save it for someone else. And you can recruit others to replace our votes. I know about 15% of the electorate that won't be voting for ORomney.
And try to defend Ryan's voting record with his support of Obama's stimulus. That's going to be real fun for the team.

Intrade predicted the Ryan pick. Today they have Obama up 58.6 to Romney's 39.0. We will see if that changes in the fall, but that is where it stands today. Please note that in June, the divide between the two was a consistent 10-11pts. Today, it is at 20pts, Obama leading.

Ronald Reagan was behind Jimmy Carter in the polls about this same time. Appointing Ryan VP is about making this election all about the economy. He is all about obeying the law that says Congress is supposed to propose a balanced budget every year. The Dems havent produced a budget in 3 years.

It is still always going to be, if Obama defeats himself, Romney wins. That is the only way Romney wins. And defeating himself can involve the economy.

You guys are dreaming. No one has been reelected with 8+% unemployment, less than 2% GDP and less than 50% in the polls. This economy sucks. It's terrible. What's Obama gonna run on, "It Could've Been Worse?" It's the economy, STUPIDS.
