If I heard any Pastor say something THAT extreme and racially charged I would have a problem with it too. This goes beyond the "get your attention" factor. Anytime anyone does it, I would say it was a stupid move if they did not really believe it to be true

Some people are also idealistic and look at things through rose colored glasses. Sorry, but Im just looking at the facts. It's not about feelings. I defended Obama against the Muslim accusations....because I just looked at the facts

There is a reporter who attended a service with Obama. He said that Obama was nodding his head in agreement while his pastor spewed that mess.
The reporter was there. Chris was not.

I heard a wonderful sermon on race about six months ago. It was spoken in a church where there are about as many black folks as there are white. They have a white pastor.
He spoke to the black folks and dispelled the myths and stereotypes they feel about white folks. He said that white folks don't wake up in the morning with the intention of doing the black man wrong. White folks aren't 'out to get them'. He mentioned other things as well. I have the CD somewhere, and there is a member here who also has it, as he asked me for a copy.
He addressed the white folks and did the same thing. He spoke about how a group of black boys on the street corner doesn't mean they are selling and buying drugs. He spoke against the myths and stereotypes as well. It was a great service. Everyone, both black and white, amened him and it was a great service.
There are also a few hispanics in that church, but I took a look around, as I was just visiting there. I've seen segregation in churches before, but was amazed that it wasn't here. Blacks, whites, as well as the hispanics were all sitting together instead of being in groups. I know several people in this church and have for years, both black and white.
Someday I'll clean this computer room so I can find that CD. I'd love to hear it again.

You should not feel threatened by this, as the "punishment" to come referred to in this article will be "divine" in nature, not at the hands of militant "idiots". These folks do not have the power, money, or influence to bring about their babblings.
Furthermore, because they are so open with their contempt for peace and brotherhood, anything they might possibly attempt to bring about that "divine punishment" themselves will be met with superior force, and they realize this.

C Hall, for once, it would be refreshing to see you display the intellectual courage and honesty to say that this man's words were inflammatory, divisive, and just flat out wrong.
Do a search on how many times I've called JW's statements inflammatory. I think they were even ignorant. But I'm not a little lady who will faint and fan myself over them. White preachers say things just as bad all the time. I see what he said in context. He's a man of his era.

Again, do a search on the term "inflammatory" in my posts. You'll see that I've called JW's statements inflamatory many times. What you don't see is me using his inflammatory statements as an excuse to rail against him and render evil for evil or railing for railing. They were inflammatory statements made by a man who lived through the civil rights movement. I'm not surprised....I'm not in shock....actually if the man had come out praising the white establishment as he knew it I'd know there was something wrong. LOL

I've not entirely defended him...I've just tried to put his statements in context. The man is a black man who lived through the civil rights movement and happens to be a preacher. Guess what...he's gonna say a lot of things we will disagree with. That doesn't give you or anyone else an excuse to assemble a lynch mob. We hear his statements and agree where he's right and disagree where he's wrong. It's called civility. JW's clearly illustrated that his comments were based on if America continues to play God. In this respect any solid man of God would agree with him.
