ng - I have friends and relatives who walked that same road. And said the same thing that you are saying. They valued their time in the Apostolic/Pentecostal "old" ways. But they believed they had received some better understanding of scripture and living.
And it did seem to work well for them.
But it did not work for their children.
I cannot think of any whose children still believe in the "basics" of our doctrine.
By basics, I mean One God, repentence, baptisim in Jesus name and the infillinging of the Holy Ghost.
And some of their children are now pastoring large churches.
With large social gatherings every Sunday.
