BTW People are led to believe that higher taxes means more for the poor. Im poor and higher taxes hasn't done anything for me..
Every year the teachers union spends millions on ads to raise Taxes supposedly for our schools. We raise taxes and the next year they do the same.
The money goes to Teacher salary, who in turn have a lot taken out as dues.
Lots of Ca money goes to Unions and Pensions.

Smearing somebody you don't agree with is not a good way to win an argument. No I do not live in "Cali" are you trying to say California?
The fact is I know plenty of people who can't find any job at all, period. I have never seen this many people struggle in my area. So I stand by what I said. News stories do not put food on the table.
I am happy that your wife got her job back.

Re: I thought it was all doom and gloom in Cali
Higher taxes don't do anything for the working poor.
The working man or woman has to get out of bed (taxed on your house) turn on the light switch (taxes on electric) get dresses (taxed for clothes) get in your car that hopefully will run until you pay it off (personal property)(gas tax)(insurance tax). Then you go to your job and work until they say you can go home (lot's of taxes).
It is just ridiculous how the working poor are treated. So sorry if this sounds bitter but the working poor have it worse than the poor who sit at home. There is very little help if you have a job and go to work every day.

Here is my income tax theory simplified. Someone has to pay for things. Who is it going to hurt less? Middle class or rich? The poor dont count because they dont make enough to pay taxes. If you tax the middle class to much they wont spend money. They dont spend money, the economy stalls. Putting money in the Rich peoples pockets does little to nothing for job growth. Demand is what creates jobs. If people dont spend, there is no demand. No deman, no jobs. The rich are going to have money regardless. There is a difference between my 35% taxes and a millionaires 35% taxes.
The teachers union is Cali is the most corrupt union in the world IMHO. Also, all public paid pensions need to go. That includes, city workers, state workers, fed govt workers, and yes SSI needs to go.

I know. Its hurts the middle class more than anyone. The poor get all the aide they need. Even the working poor. Most of the people I know who are on Govt assistance also work at like places like walmart and fast food chains. Like I said, who is paying for the aide? It seems that the middle class pay for both corporate welfare and welfare for the poor. Again, tax the middle class to much and the economy will fail.
