When it comes to marriage... GOVERNMENT shouldn't even be involved at all. Marriage was originally a private contract between two individuals and/or their families. Violation of the contract allowed for divorce. If two parties divorced and were not in agreement about the terms of separation, THEN they could take the issue to the court to have a settlement determined.

Frankly, I believe marriage should return to being private contract and cease being a civil (read GOVERNMENT) institution. All the problems we see with marriage today have been caused by the GOVERNMENT'S meddling with licensing and divorce law. GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF MARRIAGE.

As a libertarian Christian I believe that the GOVERNMENT shouldn't regulate our private associations and relationships. Marriage should be a private contract between private individuals. Get GOVERNMENT out of marriage. That's my opinion.

So... I don't think it really matters that Romney is a leading contender. I still think that the GOP and the DEMS are the biggest problem in this country.

I am a Christian first before anything. I used to be a Republican but decided there was not enough difference between the two parties. Abortion, wars and spending are the same in both parties. So I checked out a few Libertarian books. One of the core values is that each person has inalienable rights. This fits perfectly with what I believe. The unborn child in the womb has rights to. Like the right to be born. My two cents.

Oh one other thing. We do not have to go all the way back to 1776 but we do need to make drastic changes. We do need a safety net for those less fortunate but it should not become full of misuse and fraud. I don't want to shut down the post office either but they need to be held accountable for the money that they are given. Poor result with no changes for improvement, then you get a pay cut.

Bottom line is we all need to have common sense and work together.
