In the parable of the master inviting people to the banquet, the original plan of the master was to invite certain people and they (by their own will/excuses) refused to come. So plan B was to go out in to the highways and biways and compel others to come in and feast. But that was not his original plan. I do believe sometimes God lets people have their way, when it's not His plan.

I believe he had a plan to expose their hearts knowing they would have excuses for not attending. Same scenario as the rich, young ruler.

I'm an open theist. I think America made a stupid mistake in 2008 and repeated it last night. We picked our poison and I think the only hope for America to get back on the right track would be for some judgment to fall hard on her. If America will not break herself and fall on an altar of repentance, then perhaps what is needed is for God to break her will with His judgment and bring her to repentance.

This country just saw the election of an openly gay congresswoman, two states legalize sodomite marriage and a movement towards legalized marijuana. We need either the church to do it's job and influence the soul of the country or for God's judgment to break us and wake us up. IMO...preferably BOTH!
