It appears to me, from Perry's lawsuit filed, that he is addressing, specially, the onerous rules with the petition circulators having to be registered Virginian voters. He said that in Texas you pay $5,000 and gather 4,500 to 5,000 signatures. It should be that simple for anyone.
What I believe is that the GOP Establishment wants an Obamalite candidate - Romney - so that Obamacare will pass. They want to put forth a semblance of a fight, but they aren't serious about it. You will find that to be true in one of my links, above, with Gov. McDonnell (VA), who is being considered a possible VP pick.
Anyway, as you, I am standing by my candidate until the last hurrah. I will vote in the primary and then I will leave the Republican Party and register as an Independent. I have had enough of the GOP Establishment. It is my opinion that in order to kill the party, we need to simply walk away. The Tea Party went retarded on itself, so they are not a big help.
I talked to my mother, yesterday, and didn't know she had already registered as an Independent. I did get to speak to her about her misconceptions on Gov. Perry. I believe she will be giving him another look. She needs to stop watching ABC news.

She's probably going to vote for Ron Paul if given the chance.

I don't think he has changed either. After all, they don't call him Dr. No for nothing. Any bill that wasn't Constitutional, he voted no.
And I do agree with him and Rick Santorum on earmarks. Not every earmark is bad. Earmarks are involved in infrastructure and some of it is needful and useful.
I just don't agree with him on Israel. I don't side with them based on religion, but because they are a strong democratic ally in the Middle East. I would want to stand by their side and fight with them.

All over Israel. That's quite a formidable response over one issue.
Why would we cease being an ally with Israel? RP doesn't say we should stop being allies with Israel.

I don't like his 9-11 Truther stance. His thinking that it is okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Drug legalization. He won't get voted in for those three things alone.
But more than Ron Paul, I don't want Mitt Romney in office. I agree with this article (everything he says about Romney is what I have believed about Romney. I've only nutshelled it by saying, "If Romney gets in office, nothing changes in this country.") concerning the health mandates:
Quote:
What is Wrong With the Individual Mandate?
The reason why I oppose Mitt Romney is simple, He was born to destroy everything that we have accomplished since the Tea-Party Movement emerged in the Spring of 2009. Romney is the very model of a managerial progressive. He has one great virtue. He knows how to run things; he knows how to organize things. He would make a good Secretary of Commerce. He has no understanding of the principles that underpin our government. And, in fact, like most businessmen, he is a man almost devoid of political principles. Give him a problem, and he will make a highly intelligent attempt to solve it. Ask him to identify which problems should be left to ordinary people and what are the proper limits to government’s reach, and he would not understand the question. He is what you might call a social engineer; and, in his estimation, we are little more than the cogs and wheels that need to be engineered.
Not surprisingly, Romney is a political chameleon. When he ran for the Senate against Ted Kennedy in 1994, he rejected the legacy of Ronald Reagan and embraced abortion. When he ran for the Republican presidential nomination, he altered his profile in both regards. It seems never to have crossed his mind when, as Governor, he confronted a Democratic legislature in Massachusetts intent on introducing socialized medicine that the individual mandate is tyrannical. Flexibility is what substitute for virtue in his case.
Romney’s political instincts are disastrous. He will betray the friends of liberty and limited government at the first opportunity. If he is nominated, the people who joined the Tea Party and turned out in 2010 to give the Republicans an historic victory are likely to stay home. If, by some miracle, the progenitor of Romneycare actually defeats the progenitor of Obamacare, he will quickly embrace the entitlement state and present himself as the man who can make it hum, as he did in Massachusetts. He is not better than Hoover, Eisenhower, Nixon, Bush père, and Bush fils. He is cut from the same cloth, and in practice he is apt to be far, far worse. The consequence will be the death in American life or at least the decay of the impulse embodied within the Tea-Party Movement.
Even, however, if Romney and the Republicans win an historic victory in 2012, I doubt that anything will be done by this managerial progressive to roll back the administrative entitlements state. If I am right in my fears in this regard, the Tea Party impulse will dissipate; the Republican party will split; the Democrats will return in 2016; and 2012 will be seen in retrospect as just another bump in the long, gentle road leading us to soft despotism.

Virginia Attorney General Intervenes in GOP Primary Ballot Dispute
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is intervening in the Virginia presidential primary dispute and plans to file emergency legislation to address the inability of most Republican presidential candidates to get their name on the ballot, Fox News has learned.
Former state Attorney General Tony Troy called the Virginia process a "legal and constitutional embarrassment."
Fellow former top Virginia prosecutor Steve Rosenthal said: "This is not a Democratic or Republican issue. If it takes emergency legislation, then we need to do it."
